HDDR and Campfire on the same night?

Hi~
On our first night at Disney in October, we're going to the 5:00 show of HDDR.
Do you think it's possible (or practical) to expect to also attend the campfire that night?
I read somewhere that the campfire is at 7:00, but read on another thread that it is at 7:30.
Not knowing exactly how long HDDR even is, the HDDR after ours is scheduled for 7:15.
I have never been to either.
Do you think it would it be too much to do both in one night? We have 4 adults and 2 children (3 years old and 18 months).
Will the timing even work between the two?
I really appreciate any insight you can give! I'd love to do both in one night to free up nights for other things for the remainder of our trip (Fantasmic, Wishes, Illuminations, etc...KWIM).
Thanks!

If you really want to do both the same night (and this is your only chance during your trip), then go for it. You may miss a little of the campfire time (but you will already have eaten and might not be that interested in roasting marshmallows anyway) and maybe some of the singalong, but it's better than not experiencing the campfire at all. The children will love it! Heck, my husband and I love it.

If you don't have to do both in one night, I would wait and split them up. The Hoop-de-Doo is a 2-hour show. It's loud and busy and with your kids' ages, might be enough for them for one night.

The campfire will be at 8 pm until the next time change, whenever that is in the fall. Then it will switch to 7 pm.
Just play it by ear and see how much time you have. It's only a short distance to the campfire program. Sometimes we get impatient in waiting for the bus, so we just walk there (maybe 15 min walk) from the HDDR area. Nice walk as long as the mosquitos aren't out! :)

I would go, it really is nice. The kids can sit on the benches or bleachers. There will be a sing along, hokey pokey and the sort, then Chip & dale come out for a brief interlude, then the outdoor movie will begin.

You can bring your own marshmallows to roast or buy them there at the campfire chuckwagon.

Lots of fun! pixiedust:

Great!
Thanks for all of your feedback!

Oh...I'd love it if the Campfire isn't until 8pm! Daylight Savings ends on October 29th- so a few days after our trip.

I think we'll just try to do HDDR and the Campfire on the same night. We're staying in (hopefully!) the 1400 loop right near the Campfire anyway so at least won't be traveling too far out of our way.

Does anyone know: Is it necessary to get there early in order to just get a set- or even a view :rolleyes2 - of the Campfire? I've never been there before and want to make sure...if we get there just as the fire is starting, will we be standing behind rows of people?

Thanks again!

I was thinking of doing the same thing, we have a 5:00 ADR for HDDR on Fri May 5th. I htought it would be fun and even a little relaxing to go to see both. We are not camping this trip, we are staying at POP, is there a way to get back there when we are done????

You can take either a yellow or orange bus to the Outpost, then catch a bus to Downtown Disney where you can get a bus to the Pop.
