I've read so many great things about HDDMR but have never tried it -and don't really know, exactly, what people love about it.... I just know that everyone tries to get an ADR for it.

Is there anyone who thinks it is overrated - or who doesn't like it?

I'm just not sure about it. The food choices don't really appeal to me too much....but maybe it's better than it sounds.

Thoughts?

Sometimes it's not all about the food. It's the whole experience and I say haveing been there many of times :cheer2: It's GREAT!

I got dragged to it once. HATED it. It's like the old tv show Hee Haw on crack. The chicken was good though.

In all the times we've been to WDW, we've never gone. Just doesn't appeal to us.

We went a couple years ago. I certainly wouldn't go again!

No one in our party thought it was worth the money or 2 ts credits.

The show was just Ok and the food was horrible , IMOP!

Alot of posters on here love the place, but this isn't one of them.

Just went on 6/21 to the 5:00 show. It was the day we arrived and we had all been up since 3am and we still enjoyed it -- we were staying in the cabins at fort wilderness though and being close to home probably helped. The show was fun and funny and the kids (12yo twin boys) loved it. The food was OK the ribs were too smokey for me but the chicken was great. It is 2ts credits but includes beer, wine and tip so it's not that bad of a value.

went on every trip because everything was top notch-- the food & the talent and the high energy-- plus the kids were younger and they loved the show-- BUT went 3 years ago and won't go back-- very disappointed

We have been to it many times. The food is very good, but deffinately nothing gourmet. It's basic fried chicken, ribs and fixings that go with. The show if very corny, but cute also. It just depends on what your looking for. I can tell you that with our family it is a must do every trip....we have kids age range 19-12.

Wow - to each his own. People either love it or hate it. We love it - the show and the food. Its alwys a fun night.

Ok - thanks everyone. Bob NC, I was guessing that it was like that - Hee Haw on crack - funny description LOL. Sounds like something that might be fun for the first 30 mins - then break out the Tylenol.

We went on our honeymoon TEN YEARS AGO, yikes!
It was so sweet and they brought us up on stage and sang to us.
But I wouldn't go again, too expensive!

We loved it. We went in April and it was hands down one of our favorite experiences at WDW. And for the record, I hated Hee Haw! I just enjoyed the show, the food was very tasty and seeing my kids having so much fun was part of the appeal. And the non stop beer! Its expensive. But so is everything else at WDW.

I am from Texas and my mama made the best fried chicken in the world. Ribs were her second speciality. Those are two things that I generally don't order when I eat out. But I have to say I enjoyed them at HDDR. They weren't as good as what my mom made but they were still good. I loved the salad and cornbread. It definitely isn't gourmet. But I don't know, there was just something about the whole thing that really made it fun for us. Again, the free beer and sangria can make the experience even more enjoyable! Which is why we left the rental car at the resort and let Disney do the driving!

I'm bringing my mother, grandmother and aunt in November and I booked HDDMR and have been so nervous about this choice.

I've never been and have seent tons of great reviews on it so I'm hoping I made the right choice. Our party ages range from 7 to 80 so I'm hoping that there's "something for everyone"!

It's corny but fun. Lots of food and drinks (as I remember beer was included). It's mostly about the experience I think too, interactive - they involve the audience. One of the performers made up a song with my DD's name and sang it to her, they get volunteers to participate in the show.

It wasn't something we do everytime, but definitely something to try at least once :)

We went during our first trip to the World in May. We actually went on our arrival day. I think it was a decent choice to kick things off, but I wouldn't go again (it's just sort of a btdt kind of thing--I've experienced it and want to experience other things now) ...

Add me to the did not like it list. I was bored out of my mind.. kept wondering when it was going to get started..and then thought it never did. I think that is what the free drinks were for..haha Food was nothing special but I liked it better than the "show".

Glad we at least tried it I guess but never again!
