We are on the basic dining plan but, I have booked 4 extra TS credit. My plan is to pay for are two buffet breakfasts out of pocket and one of our 2Ts credit dinners, 1 being Fantasmic at HBD or the other 1 being Hoop Dee Doo.

Can you help me decide which one to pay for OOP?

The Hoop Dee Doo, Cat 2 is 59.00 per person: this include drink, meal, tax, and gratuity. Total for 7 is 413$.

Fantasmic -Hollywood Brown Derby - I just called and was told it is 58.57 per person. Total for 7 is 409.99(but still need to pay for drinks, tax, and gratuity) From my understanding if I pay out of pocket for this meal the 58.57 does not include drinks, tax, or gratuity. I copied this from one of the dis sponsor websites:

Package Details

The Rules: The above prices do not include a gratuity for your server nor the 6.5 % tax. ALL beverages for the 'adult' meals ARE EXTRA. These packages do not include park admission.

DOES SOMEONE HAVE RECENT EXPERIENCE WITH THE BROWN DERBY FANTASMIC PACKAGE PAYING OUT OF POCKET AND/or DDP? :confused3

Hi. add it up and decide if you should upgrade to deluxe dining. That will give you 3 meals a day and you won't be short any credits. I think deluxe would be about $30 more per day.

How many days are you going? If it's 6 or less, you'll probably break even with the upgrade, and get an extra meal per day out of it.

Upgrading to deluxe, won't work either since were only 3 meals(4TS cr) over our allotment. To upgrade to deluxe it is an extra $33 per person, we have 7 people for 9 nights, which totals $2,079.

Anyone know the numbers for Brown Derby for Fantasmic, and what's included(see OP)?

I don't have experience... but if I were in your shoes, I would pay oop for HDDR and use the plan for HBD. The reasons I say this are...
1. Drinks, Taxes and gratuity are included no matter how you pay for HDDR
2. HBD does not include these.
3. DDP will pay for the drinks, and taxes... you still have to pay gratuity though.

That saying, HDDR would be cheaper for you.

I think the PP is right, play to pay oop for HDDR.
Also sometimes you may want to "save" a credit from a regular, sit-down meal. Sometimes I find if I am too hot or tired or too full from Dole whip floats :), I don't always want a full meal. (I am an eater!) I may just pay cash for a salad and appy and share a few bites with the hubby or kids, who aren't going to finish their meals. I like to drink water and certainly don't need a full dessert.
If you are all on the dining plan, you can share and you are ordering other food. I have never had any problem with this...
It is certainly cheaper to do it...have fun. You will always be full!!!
