Hi all I have read all of the threads on the HB meal plans but I am still in a bit of a quandry. I have 3 kids boys 13, and 8 and a girl 7. I and my wife and all of the kids will be going to DLRP for the first time 02 Apr for 10 nights at DCR. We are WDW veterans and usually eat at counter service and splurge on a few nice meals during our trips. My question is whether you would recommend the HB meal plan to us as I am not sure whether it would be worth it as we will visit the parks almost every day except for one where we plan to see some of Paris. Thanks Guys. By the way where do you get your countdown tickers, I would like to get one as well. Thanks again.:thumbsup2

The hb vouchers are good value and you might end up spending as much on a counter service meal as you would on the hb vouchers! I think the cheapest (standard vouchers) are around £13 and they cover places like Annette's. For that you get a meal, side, coke and a brownie. Considering the meals alone are around 13e, that's a good saving!

If you see a ticker you like on someone else's post, just click on it and it will take you through the steps to get your own. HTH.

I would recommend anyone to get the H/B vouchers. you could easily spend up to E30 on counterservice meals and at least it is nice to know that your table service meals are already paid for.

I upgraded to H/B premuim costing £31 and was able to use my vouchers in Inventions normally E55 and Buffalo Bills normally E59 .....it meant great savings to me and my family

I would definitely say go for it after this recent trip as the cost of meals would have seriously spoiled our trip.

Possibly by April the exchange rate will have improved but as you can see from the above example the exchange rate on these vouchers is very good and you have an excellent choice of places to eat.

I know this has been answered loads of times - but....really? really? I can really exchange one of my HB Premium vouchers (face value 44 Euro) for a meal at Inventions????? Don't I have to pay the extra 11 Euro? Really????

(Can you tell that I can't believe it can be that good? :lmao: )

We used the hb plus vouchers and would recommend them. There is a downside in that we definitely didn't eat our moneys worth. We just don't seem to have big appetites on holiday :rotfl: but given that it would have cost us the same on counter service meals that probably would've still filled us all up, that didn't really matter.

Absolutely.......the H/B premuim are that good :cool1:

in fact the H/B premium also includes a soft drink each as well :thumbsup2

We only had 3 soft drinks and our waitress insisted we take a bottle of water with us ;)

I stuffed my face in Inventions so much that i wasnt even hungry when i woke up the next morning, plus even after 3 courses in Cafe Mickey i was STILL hungry lol.

I will be getting HB premium on every trip now, its such a good deal.

Yes I would get HB premium vouchers every trip now as well, they are really good value for money with the current exchange rate :) .

You guys rock. I really appreciate it. I am now looking to book them, but wanted to ask if you could help me with a question. My holiday is now paid in full and if I add the HB can I pay a deposit and complete payment as I can within a set time like they allow with the remainder of the holiday booking. If memory serves me I had until 30 days prior to arrival to pay in full. I really appreciate it. Also one more request if yuo will bear with us, please help me understand the different options so I can assure I make the best decision. You guys are really a godsend of information. Thanks again to all.:dance3:

Everything has to be paid off on your balance on the date Disney have given you, I think it 60 days before you leave.

The best way to decide which option to go for is probably to first decide where you want to eat most. We wanted Annette's, Walt's and The Steakhouse - they are all available on hb+. If you wanted Buffalo Bill's, Auberge and California Grill - you would be better off getting hb premium. There is a grid in the back of the Disney brochure.

Do you mean a reservation in advance?
Not all do, but most do. If you have any particular restaurant in mind, let us know, and someone here will be able to tell you if you can book a table in advance :) .
