Anyone know what the going rate per point is for the new Hawaii resort?

I purchased Saratoga about 7 years ago for I believe $85 a point.

Just thinking I might add the 150 for Hawaii and then every 3 years I can go to Hawaii.

Do you need to buy there (and pay full retail) in order to stay there??? (Rhetorical question) :rolleyes1

Well I am thinking that to fly to Hawaii and so fourth... I would rather have a great time to plan the trip rather then the 7 month window by buying somewhere else.

I am thinking it might be a hot spot and trying to get in at 7 months window will be a mad house... especially when you take into account my wife is a teacher so that would be more peak times of vacations.

Understood. I guess time will tell how much demand there is at seven months for this resort. If I were to place a bet, I'd guess that for much of the year it will be fairly easy. Even at much smaller DVC resorts, seven months is usually a safe time, except for highly limited room types or during specific holidays. Even the tiny Grand Californian's 50 rooms seems to have availability at 7 months a lot of the time. I'm just speculating of course. Time will tell.

However, the prices are something to consider. I calculate about a $7,500 difference between a resale contract (OKW, SSR, BWV) for 150 points and a direct purchase of the Hawaii DVC. You could tuck that away and save it for one of those occassions where there was no availability.

However, I just realized as I was typing this that if you can travel on vacation to Hawaii every three years, then perhaps these savings are fairly trivial and that convenience and peace of mind is more of a value to you.
