Hawaii in February? Hawaii in March?

OK Hawaii buffs - any appreciable difference between going in February vs. March? I understand Kauai's raining season (on the North side?) is sometime around there. If there is a difference, which Islands would be better for which months. Or does it really not make any difference? Thanks!! (yes, I asked something like this last year - we really do "plan" these things way to long before we actually do them )

We went to Oahu over the week of Feb 14th this year and found it to be wonderful.
The rates were super cheap on the hotels due to low season and air was cheap for us too.
The weather said mid 70's but is felt so much warmer than that. We still sat on the beach every day and it was great...although the water was cold and I didn't go in.
We had light winds as always in Hawaii and a few misty rains but just a few afternoon drops really.
It was a perfect time to go and we would go again. I think March may be more rainy...not sure tho.

Oh.. we accidently booked over Valentines day unknowingly...won't do that again. The hotel was fully booked due to weddings and we were unable to change rooms to an upgraded room. so we would just skip that weekend.

Hawaii is rainier in the winter months and its not so much "which island" as which side of the islands to stay. We haven't been in the winter because we have had to deal with school vacations through the years. The best part about winter is the part we miss; the whales. That is their home turf in the winter but then their presence there limits the use of personal water craft, such as jet skiis, which doesn't matter to me. On Kauai, I would stay in Poipu and visit the north shore. On Maui, Ka'anapali might be fine or you might see more rain. Wailea is a safer bet. On the Big Island, visit Volcano National Park regardless of the weather and then stay on the Kona side. I am not sure if there is much "weather difference" between Feb and March, so I would see when the best deals are.
