Well, it's been awhile since I have been on or posted anything. 3+ months I think. We had a great trip this past May, and when we got back I was suffering some major Disney burnout.

I went through and took care of all our pictures that we took, did scrap- booking, y'know the whole 9 yards, but I just felt burnt out on it all with no desire for another trip.

I love Disney, but was it enough? I didn't go on any of the sites, or the Dis, or anything....

And with all the rumors, news, airline costs, economy, etc just makes it worst. It doesn't help that my DW and I really don't have anyone in our family who we can share Disney with either.

Anyway, it's getting to that time again, where the DW and I start to talk about a trip for the next year. I am about 20% that I want to go, 80% we don't right now. Has anyone gone the burnout? How long did it last for you, what caused it for you, what got you through it??

:sad2:

During one of our last vacations, my husband and I started with the burnout. We had been going 1-3 times a year and I think it just got to be too much for a while. We had gotten into a rut doing the same things every time not trying anything much new. We waited a full year or more before we went back and I went out of my way to find things we didn't know about Disney to "freshen" things up. I poured over hidden Mickeys and little known trivia to share with my husband. When we went we started looking more closely at details we had never paid too much attention. It really made us appreciate all over again the amount of creative work that went into the smallest detail. We had the best vacation in years that time. We haven't been back in 18 months for several reasons, but we're going two months from now to introduce our almost 4 yr old GD to Disney. We're more excited than we've been since our first family trip in '91. So my advice is not to push it, take some time to look for details or things you didn't know before that encourages you to stop and look at all the details you may have overlooked in previous travels. Good luck!:thumbsup2

Think of 2 new things to do each vacation. We aim for a new hotel or some new restaurants. And once I start feeling like that (and I hate to admit I've ever felt like that, I know, I want to smack MYSELF!) I will space out my vacations and inevitably I am pining for my Main Street sights, sounds and smells once more.

Our vacation are always great, May was our best yet. But usually when I get home, I am very excited and have the can't wait until next time attitude. That feeling was over in a few days.

We change up what we do and what we see. Try different restaurants, activities, etc. So who knows, I'll just take it a day at a time. Maybe, WDW will run another sweet buy 4 get 3 free deal for next year. That might get me excited again. :rolleyes1
