Hello!

We will be in Orlando for a week staying at the CBR. We have family that is meeting us there but are staying offsite. Will there be any issue with them visiting us at the resort? They won't be staying over night but after a day in the parks, we might want to go back for a drink or two before everyone goes their separate ways. Any issues?

Thanks!

I think they'll be completely welcome.

The only time there's an issue with guests is with Concierge rooms to my knowledge. In that case, say when my mom comes to visit us with the kids at Disney, we register as an extra guest in our room and she's covered for the lounge. Then she can escape later to her room in another resort and not have the kids jump on top of her 24/7...

This is a different situation than the other resort rooms. There is no reason why family cannot visit. I you are concerned though, contact the resort in advance and ask. If there's a security concern at least then they'll be aware.

Have fun....

I don't think you will have a problem. When we check in we are always asked if we will be having any visitors. Sometimes we do and they just right down their name.

Should be O.K. if you are driving in you may have to let someone at the gate or front desk know.

My honey's family lives in FL and her mom and one sister last year both had health issues that made it much more convenient to have them join us at our room at ASMu and then have them meet up with me and the rented ECV at MK for a family day at the park. At check in, we explained that we were going to have some family join us for the day and they gladly printed off 2 parking passes for them to use. This allowed them to drive directly to the resort with no problems. They just did the "I am visiting..." thing at the gate and we placed the parking permits on their dashes to cover them for the day. They took the busses to the park. The CM was most helpful and had no problem with issuing us the permits. :) Mickey

Several years ago we were at CBR and my Florida aunt and uncle came to visit us. They were very welcome. It's usually a good idea to let the security guard know visitors are expected; they will call to confirm your visitors if they're coming by car. I'm sure they'll be happy to sell you all drinks and food! Have a great visit.

I'm so glad this was brought up! We are going to WDW the same week as my sister and her family. We wanted to "hang out" together on our non-park day. We are flying and staying on-site. They are driving and staying off-site. We wondered if they came to visit us (at ASMo) if they could use the pool. We won't have a car, so we aren't sure how we could go visit them. I gather that it is fine for them to visit but could they use the pool? If not, I guess we could take a cab to their condo...if we can use the pool there. This is a bit different than the traditional "pool-hopping" matter - I just want my kids to get to play with their cousins. How does everyone feel about this? Is it wrong for them to swim in our pool? (We may just meet up at DTD and avoid the whole problem - the kids could play in the fountains and with the legos :))

laurie31, Im glad you brought up the pool issue. I was afraid to. We also may be having guests when we stay at CBR in a couple of weeks and was wondering the same thing.

When we are expecting guests that might want to swim,. we ask at the desk (just as we would for any other motel/hotel). So far they have always said yes. We have also heard people asking the lifeguard. I'm sure many people will tell you what the "rules" are (the pool is for the guests)..and they wouldn't be wrong...but Disney often "breaks" their own rules, so I would go by what they say. When we had guests at the Sports, it was pretty crowded, but they still said sure. I know some on this board have asked for the "fancier" hotels, and we asked for a moderate, and still most times the answers have been yes...I think one gal was told no...but she was the visitor and wanted to try out a pool. I've never seen where a guest of a guest was turned down first hand on this board.
It's been suggested on these boards you meet in the waterpark, but if you just want to visit while the kids swim, or swim yourself, rather than waterpark it..it's a nice alternative. Weekdays are quieter than weekends.
