I am trying to see if I can get a better rate for my May trip. I am currently paying about $420 for a standard car with National.

I went to National's website and checked their published rates. I came up with $497.00 for an intermediate with no code. I then tried codes Globe, Trib, New IDay1 and FVG - the rate came up the same??? what the heck am I doing wrong. Travel dates are May 17 - may 27th.

Thanks for your help :)

Who knows, but everyone of us who checked got lower rates with Dollar's fvg code.

I'd just run it again, or try later. Once I checked the rate was up and then down again the next day. But National charges me over $100 what I get with Dollar, for my dates!

I'm confused by your post. Are you checking the Dollar site or the National site?? FVG is the code for Dollar and should come up with some sort of discount there but won't work on National. They might have some other discount codes but the ones you mentioned are all for Dollar to my knowledge. Check mousesavers if you need codes for National or other companies. Hope that helps!

I think that was it... Using the code at National's site instead of Dollar.
