We arrived a few hours ago. Pre-checked in... Almost put us in the wrong room type. Went to get out Fantaic tickets... Confirmation number was for tickets on the day I called 30 days ago. Went to our "theme park view" room... Nothing but trees blocking the view. Moved rooms. That room is a mess; must not have been visited by housekeeping.

Geesh ~ I'm sorry, will you be able to get F! seats for tonight? I hope things improve for you.

Oh... wow. That sucks. I'm sure things will get better though. I do hope you have a good time

so lets turn this negative energy around. and i'm going to say have fun and enjoy the remainder of your trip. You are in the Land so make the most of the remining hours you have the park should be open until 12:00 or catch a movie at the AMC to cool off a bit due to the heat. ENJOY

I agree! If you dwell on the things going wrong it really will sour your whole trip. Take a deep breath, scream into a pillow, cry, take 10 more minutes to be angry and feel defeated and wallow then resolve to not let it ruin the rest of your time!!! Get out there, hunt that Mickey Mouse down, and give him a giant hug. It's sure to cheer ANYONE up! :goodvibes

 Sorry to hear your day started bad, but cheer up :) you're at Disneyland :cool1: let loose you'll have a great time even if things started out poorly. Have a tigger tail :thumbsup2 breathe in that Disney sugary air :) take a train ride and soak it in.

I'm stuck at home with two sick kids under the age of three and I'm fairly certain I've got a migraine coming on. :scared1:

See? It's not so bad :rotfl2:

In all seriousness, sending good vibes your way and hoping these are minor glitches in an otherwise great trip. :goodvibes:goodvibes

They fixed the Fantasmic ticket problem, yes?

Where are you staying?

Call housekeeping, get them in there asap! We once checked into PPH very late and I do believe we were put in a room that someone had checked into, smoked in, and was booted from. No towels except for a used one in the basket, a smell of smoke, etc etc. We did call to get more towels and toiletries, and they came up fast, but I should have had them clean it to get the smoke further out.

If you're checking in, before it gets too much later...go sit somewhere in the cool. Or go do Animation Academy. Or have some nice food. And water, don't forget the water. OR go swim! You have to "re-set" somehow. At Seaworld we "re-set" by seeing the Pets Rule show...you need to find a way to do that today at DL/DCA.

Hey wait, you're already in a room???? If you're on-site that is AWESOME, b/c they don't guarantee rooms until after 4!

Try not to sweat the small stuff. You're there, your healthy.... now go have some fun! Things could be a lot worse.

I am sorry. We had a bad start to our trip to WDW in 2007, but I vowed not to let it ruin our trip. After all you are at Disney. Don't sweat the small things. I know you paid for and planed your trip to be a certain way, but one of the most important lessons I have learned in all my trips to Disney is there is no such thing as the "perfect" trip. Little things are bound to come up. Don't let something like your room view ruin the magic you planned for!

Hope your trip turns around for you!

At least you're in the happiest place on earth. Appreciate.

Travel day (first day) is always the worst. Tomorrow you will wake up and it will get better! Have a great rest of your vacation.

When we went in October 2007, it started off badly too... United Airlines lost our luggage (sent it to Mexico?!). That was a Monday, and we didn't end up getting it back until the Thursday. So our first day was spent going to Target to buy some clothes, contact lens solution, pull-ups, etc. And I thought Target was closer than it actually was, so my little guy and I walked there... in the heat! Anyhow, I just kept thinking to myself, "I'm in Disneyland!!" And didn't let it get to me.

So :goodvibes, and hope everything turns out well and remember! You're in Disneyland, so it could be much much worse!

I hope they fixed the fantasmic seating for you. Ugh. Please let us know. I also hope your day improved.

Wow that stinks. We've found that travel days are usually the worse. Our last few trips to DL we don't plan to do anything except check-in and get ready for the park the next day.

Hope things turn around for you on this trip. Just remember you're on vacation! :)

We were just there in the 104 heat! But I was at DL!! and the fireworks and Fantazmic! with the new dragon made my trip!! :cool1:

Of course the trip got better- it was disneyland.

for the F! issue, they did go to the back, and 20 minutes later returned with a manager that overrode the system. We jumped in that line an hour early, and were able to get seats 5 and 6. I think the waiter was Dan. He was awesome. I'm not sure its worth the price, but if money isn't an issue, its an awesome experience.

For the checkin issue, first we had the bad view room. Something like 3312 or something - not sure about that second digit. Went back to the lobby. Given a new room after waiting awhile. Went to the room, and it was a mess. Went back down to the counter to explain. We were told someone would check it asap. She was on the phone talking to housecleaning. We wait around the lobby for two hours. Go to check, nothing. Call housekeeping. Go to the fitness expo; back in two hours nothing. Talk to the front desk. He tries to see what he can do... after waiting awhile while he was in the back... he returns with a fastpass. Not what I'd expect a fancier hotel to do. Hit the parks. Come back; still nothing. Now I talk to Jason at the front desk, and now things are starting to be taken care of. He apologies; first person to sound concerned. He checks the records, and says he'll call housekeeping, and get us dinner at Storyteller's. Said he'd call right back. A few minutes later housekeeping calls, and sound confused. They will send someone. Jason calls back; tells us to check the front desk for coupons to storyteller's cafe. We wait around; because we are losing confidence that someone comes. 20 minutes later a housekeeper and what looks like a manager shows up; and we need to explain to them again. We go to the desk; tell the lady working the line the problem. She doesn't know who Jason is. She goes to the back, and 15 minutes later she comes back with the tickets. Had a great (expensive) meal, and Juan was cool about us using the tickets and gave us great service. He deserved us over-tipping him :). Go back to the room, and its still being cleaned; I'm not sure how long is typical. So it was eventually corrected.

Unfortunally, there was another skipped housecleaning; they did call though to tell us they skipped it. Someone places a "privacy please" sign on our door and we did not get service.

I'm glad things got better. :)

This was at the GCH? What a bizarre series of events involving your room! What on earth were they doing??? A mystery.

Glad they bought you dinner at Storytellers, though.
