I jumped on the bandwagon and made all the arrangements to surprise my kids with a diver sign at dinner during our visit to Coral Reef. After giving it some thought and looking over the current menu (multiple times!)...I don't think there's anything my kids (14 & 12) will eat. DD might go for a steak, but DS is going to have a difficult time finding something to order. If all else fails, can he just get a cheeseburger or something?

We have taken our grandson, now 13, many times and he usually orders the NY strip steak. The menu, like many places in WDW, are pretty limited. Not sure about the burger.

I would call and ask Disney. I have seen in two different guidebooks now that you can usually order spaghetti or chicken nuggets at resturants, even if they aren't on the menu. The guidebooks have also said that you can be picky about how it is cooked. Perhaps you could order the grilled chicken, without all the stuff on it?

Good luck. . .

Thanks Guys!!! I guess we'll just go and see what we can find. :goodvibes

I have to admit I was extremely excited about eating here when we went back in october. but I was disappointed. I didnt like the choices to eat esp because i am NOT a picky eater. I guess my boyfriend and I went there for the atmosphere...It was cute but nothing spectacular in fact i thought the tank was a little cloudy i had a hard time seeing the fishes and sharks. The diver sign would def be cool though i hope you have a better experience than we did... we def did not love it there it was fine for just one time but we wont ever go back again.

We were there last August and had a great meal and a diver sign too which was the highlight of my DDs' trip. I have three very picky eaters and they each found something they liked on the menu. One was considered an adult on DDP and the other two kids. DH and I both liked our selections as well but we're not hard to please. I hope you enjoy your meal there and your sign!

We ate here the first time last trip and it was one of our best meals of the trip, we don't eat seafood so 3 of us ordered the steak and the other ordered the chicken. Best steak I have had in a long time (except for Kona) execellent service. Kids loved watching the fish and we had a huge turtle right in front of us for most of the meal.
We really enjoyed our evening here, this was our last night in the parks after 7 days of free dining and we were very pleased with it.

Your child could probably order off the childrens menue if the steak does not sound good, they will do it without the sauce if that is a worry.

Okay...I'm feeling much better about this now. Thanks everybody! :goodvibes

How do you request a diver sign? Can anyone do it? I would love to surprise my DDs with something like that and I've already made ADRs at Coral Reef. Info, please? Thanks!

It's possible they had just had a group down there for DiveQuest. The average diver has pretty poor buoyancy and uses a kick that stirs up the stuff on the bottom. This causes all sorts of visibility problems for people trying to look through the new cloud.

Ditto to that. This sounds really cool and we already have ADRs there as well. . . Thanks!
