Having problems with dining plan after checkout?

We are planning to use our last TS after checkout. I had read that after checkout some people were having problems redeeming credits. Anyone have that problem recently? If so we would do the Ts the day before.

We always do this with our left over CS credits. We check out of our hotel and then before we get on the road we get everybody lunch/dinner for the ride. Never had a problem. The last time we did this was in March of this year, also November of last year.

we had a problem last time on check out day, using our last 2 CS meals - we were at Pecos Bill's and tried to use the self-service kiosk instead of going up to the CM. We went up to one and it was no problem for him to fix - it's just the machine that can't process it (or couldn't at the time, i suppose they could have fixed it) because of the check out date. We got our meal with no problem though, the CM knew exactly what to do and took care of it.

We did this last December and didn't have any problems using our last few QS and snack credits.

The reports of problems have been pretty sporadic, random, and not especially frequent. We always have credits left to use after check out since we don't usually fly home until 6ish, and we've never had a problem.

ETA: I think a lot of problems arose around the time the resorts were changing over to the new computer system, but seem to have been resolved as they've settled into using that system.

We always do Kona Cafe on our way out- after checking and before hitting the road for the 11 hour car ride. We have not ever a problem...

I have not had a problem using credits after checkout/noon in 2009, 2010 or as recently as June of this year. But, I have seen a few reports from people that said their credits were wiped (not frequent).

We did a snack at AK Monday after check out & lunch at WCC with no problem. Then we went back to POP to swim & use our final credits. We were a party of 2 families, each with dlxe dining, and I noticed a discrepency on the TS credits remaining so asked the cm at POP & she pointed me to the mgr who checked it for me. He said after check out the only way they can check remaining credits was to ring up a meal then void it thus showing what remains. In our case 1900 Pk Fair had subtracted all 6 of our meals from one plan instead of 3 from each but it evened out in the end.

I thought your credits were good until midnight of the day you check out. If this is not true, I have some rearranging to do. We have Ohanas scheduled for 5pm the day we check out.:confused3

Ditto what mb187143 said--
The only place we ever had trouble was the self-serve kiosks at pecos bill's. No problems anywhere else-- and we always stay (& keep purchasing meals) until late night on the day of checkout.

They are. There have been cases, while sporadic and infrequent, just enough to make it an issue, where the credits would not show up after checking out (or possible "check out time").

If you're planning on doing credit-based meals after check out time, it may be a good idea to stop by Guest Relations BEFORE you head to the meal, just to check and make sure everything is set. If they are "broken" they'll be able to fix them for you. If they try and claim that they expire at check out, ask for a supervisor! (There was one or two cases where that happened too)

The majority of people aren't having any issues, especially lately, but it can and sometimes does happen. So, no sense in changing stuff around, just be aware that issues have happened, and check with Guest Relations before the meal if you're concerned.

Or just stop in at the resort food court or gift shop and use a snack credit right after checking out. That way you know the credits are still showing as active on your KTTW without waiting for someone in guest services at the resort.

Thank you for the great suggestions!

A CM informed us that once we check out they cannot see how many credits you have left until "after" they put it through. I told her I knew I had more than enough :sad2: and it went through and showed that I had 8 CS remaining on the receipt.

We checked out the 29th of August, headed over to Akershus for Breakfast (no problem) used our remaining 8 snack credits to buy pastries for people at Kringles, went on some rides, to the shuttle back to Pop and bought sandwiches and drinks with our remaining CS meals for the plane. The only problem we had was the cashier at Pop insisted that Cookies weren't a Dessert.
