Can we ask to have our park tickets not be included on our room keys, but instead on a separate ticket?

Yes, it sounds strange, but I prefer to have my room key used just for charging and the meal plan. I have already almost lost my ticket when in the parks, getting fast passes and such. I prefer to keep my key in a secure place and not in and out all day long.

Thanks.

Unfortunatley if you are on a package (which it seems you are) that includes room, tickets and the dining plan, it all has to go on the same room key. A package can not be split off to a seperate key. If you had a room only reservation and you were purchasing tickets seperatley they could put the tickets on a different key (or ticket for you) but the package is read as one component and can not be split.

If you do happen to lose it notify guest relations or the hotel front desk asap and they can replace it without any problem (it happens often).

I have a question about the room keys. My bestfriend and I are going to The World in September (sharing a room) and want to keep the charges separate (her charges on her card and my charges and my card, separare credit cards). Is this possible?

Yes and No. The system will only allow 1 credit card to be on the reservation at a time, so you will have to choose who gets to be the lucky one to "open the account" persay (nothing will be charged it is just to open the ID's for charging abilites). Make sure that you are NOT on Express Check out, that way they system will not automatically charge that card. Everytime you make charges back to the room it will print up on the room folio with the full ID card number of the card that was used. The night before you are checking out (or whenever you want to really) stop by the desk and ask for a print out of your room charges, when it prints, it will list all the charges and the card numbers (look at your cards the last 2 numbers should be 01 and 02, unless the cards had to be reprinted for any reason then they could be 03, 04 ect... decide who has which card, ask for a highlighter and highlight the charges, then they (or you) can get a calculator and figure out who owes what, at which time they can charge one card and then replace it with the other and charge that card the remaining balance. Again it is very important that you tell them at check in to take you OFF express check out (and if you get the Voice Mail, that most hotels leave, the night before you check out about Express check out call and tell them NO or else it will automatically charge the main card on the reservation for everything). It is quite simple, even though it may seem like a lot and it happens frequently, so don't worry about asking them to assist you with this at the end of your stay!

The one person on our trip will be staying an extended period of time as other relatives are coming into town ay yhe end of our trip and they will continue to stay on. So, here is where things get intersting. They do not plan on using their ticket until day 7-8 of our 10 dats stay for the first time. We plan on using ours from day 1. From what I read, they should be able to use their ticket for 14 days from the first day they use it, but what will happen in this case. We too, are planning on using the remaining days after we check out of the package and continue with room only ressie.

Also, depending on their health they said that they may prefer not to enter the parks at all, but use the ticket on a return visit in the future. How would this work?

WE usually just do APs, so all of this is new to us. No wonder, I just stick to getting my APs and doing room onlys!!!

Thanks again for all of your assistance in advance.

The tickets will be on the resort ID cards that are linked to the package as I mentioned, however the tickets themselves will not be activated until the first time that they are put through the turnstile. If they are not used at all they will remain "live" tickets (persay) and you will need to hang onto those ID cards for a later use. If you use them you have 14 days from the first date they were used, so if, for example, you have 6 days tickets and you have a 6 day/5 night reservation with the package and 3 nights room only, and you still have tickets to use (within the 14 day window) you would THEN have 2 different ID cards, the old room key would have the remaining tickets and the new ID card would be your room key. But for the original package you would only have the one ID card because it is a room/ticket/dining "package". Does that make sense?

1) Yes, this is done all the time.
2) This is especially convenient for the convention-type people or mother-daughter.
3) Here is the method
. . . check-in at resort and ask for "SHARE" reservation
. . . each person gives their credit card info
. . . each person's key now is tied to their own credit card
. . . any charges by their room key goes to the person's own credit card
. . . this can be done for any number of people in the room
. . . eliminates trying to split purchases at the end of the trip
4) The only caveats
. . . the room is evenly divided among the SHARED guests, no pro-rata
. . . the first person to order room service or phone calls gets all of them
. . . direct room charges (phone, service, etc) cannot be applied to different cards

NOTE: Many Front Desk CM's do not know how to do this, so they say it cannot be done. If you want it, insist they reference the Front Desk Manual. Ask for a manager if necessary. Do not take "no" for an answer.

Share member split DOES not apply to every reservation/situation, the reason that it is done for conventions is because they have a basic reservation and they are Pre-booked as such by convention services.

You can not share member split a reservation that is on a package. And the resorts do not offer a share split just for charging anyway, they will advise you as I did, to follow the account and settle it at the end. Can it be done, in SOME situation yes it can be, but not in all. Rusty's intentions are good in giving the information, but having never worked Operations Support (yes I know you worked Guest Services, but not in the back office) for the hotel he obviously is not aware of all the little details that are required of a Share Split. No disrepect intended, I just don't want Blndiebby25 to be frustrated when they are told (even by a manager) that it can't be done.
