I am not a HUGE ebay person but I'm having my first ebay problem. Back on Feb 3 I won a bid on an antenna topper. I never received any notification from the seller. I got my normal notification that I won the bid from ebay. Last Thursday I sent an email that I haven't received any notification from the seller and I also sent another email today.

So....how many more emails should I send (I can't email the seller directly) before I just forget about it. I am trying to make contact with this person but I'm not getting any response at all. Also, should I go ahead and give some feedback now or wait a few more days or another week? I'm NOT happy at all!!!! Good thing this person doesn't have my money already.

I don't blame you for feeling frustrated. I don't bid that often, but isn't there a way to contact eBay in this circumstance?

I'm wondering that too. I'm going through all the feedback this person has received and has surprised me. I guess I didn't think that ALL these problems would have gone on. Like someone said in someone else's post - I guess I should have looked at the feedback before bidding....I've learned my lesson!

If I were you I wouldn't get too upset just yet. Occasionally e-mails get "lost" somewhere out in cyberland (I've had it happen) so that could be the reason you haven't heard from this person. Or, something could have happened to the person: illness or worse...or to one of their immediate family members. You just never know what could be happening in their lives. I am assuming you haven't made payment yet, since you haven't gotten an e-mail from the person, correct? I guess I would give it more time, and keep trying to e-mail, even for as long as a month. This is just my opinion though, or rather what I would do if I were in your situation. Good luck!!

I had that happen too once. I never got any response from seller after repeated e-mails. Then I went to the feedback section and found they were not registered anymore:confused: Then out of the blue the item arrived, still without any communication or reason. Keep e-mailing. I think it came 2 weeks later.

Thanks for the info. It has been two weeks since I won the bid. I have tried to contact another person that left some negative feedback - and this person had paid and hasn't seen the goods. Fortunately, I haven't paid yet. I'll keep emailing daily now and see if I get any response. I have made contact with Ebay Safeharbor too.

Took me a while but I did finally find the persons email addy and have sent a non-ebay affiliated email.

Please tell me it wasn't the DCL one!? :( I admit I didn't (and don't) check the ratings of listings I send you. I just send the listing. :o

imo Chris, be thankful you didn't pay yet. Sounds like others have paid and, got nothing. If this person were legit, I'd think you'd have been asked for the money by now.

And, if you want, you can try giving a neutral explaining why. I did once (after I paid) and the seller practically jumped through my screen all defensive! :p It might stir 'em up a little. ;)

Disnee Dad Says.........................I don't buy ebay, but I know it as DW picks a few things from time to time. Feedback is very important. I wouldn't wait this long to pop a negative on someone. No return to an e-mail is ok, but 2,3,4,5 where do you draw the line? I know of only one negative DW has done, though there may be more. She won an auction, sent four messages over four daysl, and finally got a response of "I found someone who is willing to pay more." Simply stated the truth on the post, that this seller may hold on to your item and try to sell it at a better price so beware.
Got many messages and replied with the same one everytime, tell me what part of my feedback is not true and I will happily change it.
Read feedback before you bid, advice from someone who has never bought on ebay!

You can request the person's phone number and make contact that way.... What did Safeharbor say?? if it were me and I had not sent any money, I would report this seller to Ebay and cut my losses.....but if it is a rare item that you really want, you can continue to try and make contact but request the seller's information... just remember once you do that.. they also send your information to the seller as well..

Personally I wouldn't leave feedback just yet. I know of some people on ebay using one of their services (Seller's Assitant) which has caused chaos with sent emails. Their buyers simply aren't getting them. I would trying getting their contact info if the item is that important to you. If you leave a neg now be prepared for them to retaliate with a neg. Sometimes no feedback is best. Be glad you didn't send any money. Good luck :)

I don't do much on ebay either but one of my friends encouraged me to always take out insurance when I purchased something as a little extra security the item will arrive. I'd be a bit leary to send money off to someone who can't respond to an e-mail. I guess I'd feel a little unsettled that they would actually send the item. Maybe something to think about.

I hope it works out for you. Good luck!

Here's what I have done now. Late yesterday I was able to find her email address and sent an email directly. I also lost on a bid of this same persons and checked the feedback to see if the person who won it had left any yet - none so far. I also contacted, via email, a person who won another bid about the same time I did and had paid but has not heard anything from this person. As of last night, she has not received any answers to her emails either and she has been emailing frequently (she was very nice in responding back to me and told me how frustrated she is).

I have contacted Safeharbor and they told me they would monitor things - that's all they would tell me.

So I'll see if she responds today and if not, I think I will leave some feedback tomorrow.

Chris, at least you haven't paid. I have been pretty lucky that I have always gotten what I won. I have had one experience where the seller had a lot of feedback about slow shipping, but alos a lot more saying all was quick. I was one of the very slow recievers, I did email the man several times to find out what was going on, but never heard anything. Then after 3 weeks, here came my box. I left him neutral feedback. He left me none. I guess some sellers don't care about thier reputation.
