Having Lasik Friday...question

It's almost here! I bet you can't wait, it has to be exciting to know you'll see so well w/o glasses or contacts.

My husband had his Lasik consult yesterday. Unfortunaltly he isn't a candidate and he is really bummed. They did say he could have PRK laser surgery. Since we were clueless to what that even was I read a little, and will have to do some research to see if thats the best option for him or just stick with glasses.

When you are able let us know how it went! Good luck tomorrow.:)
I have a friend who had PRK and has been happy about her decision to do that. She was not a candidate for lasik so it was PRK or glasses.

The recovery is longer for PRK and she had to take some time off from work because of it (a day or two). She can see clearly and would do it all over again.

I did it!!! I did not like the pressure pushing my eye ball into my head when they did the laser cut, but the rest was a piece of cake. 24 seconds in my right eye and 22 in my left. They had to put a contact bandage in my right eye. It's all bloodshot bad. They said they should probably be able to take it out today. I go to my appointment in a bit. I can actually see the words on my monitor with no glasses!!! :thumbsup2

The pressure was nothing compared to the fabulous results, right? I can't wait to hear what your sight is this morning. It may even improve by your next visit.

As for your bloody eye, too bad it isn't closer to Halloween. I had a bloody eye two weeks ago from throwing up from a migraine. That's all me and my kids kept saying... "why couldn't this have happened closer to Halloween?" Although, I will say that I don't want a repeat performance of the headache, so I'll happily have regular eyes for Halloween. ;)

Awesome! Glad everything went well.

I just took my glasses off, and could make out the fuzzy shape of you and your DD in your siggie, definitely can't see actual letters, even when I scoot closer. I cannot even imagine what it would be like to see... well, anything without glasses. That's always been a fear, that there'll be a crisis (fire, earthquake) at night and I can't find my glasses.

I don't know what a 'contact bandage' in your eye is, that sounds a little creepy! :scared:

I went to my appointment. I have 20/20 in my left eye and 20/30 in my right, with the contact on. They took it out. The doc put numbing drops in then took a pair of tweezer and got it out. Yikes. My eye was scratched during surgery so it will take a little longer to heal, they said it should be improved at my next appointment on Friday.
