Having a REALLY bad day....

Boy, do I need a hug! I'm having the worst day. First of all, I was laid off today - 2 days before Christmas! :( I'm not really that upset about losing the job, since it was only a part-time office job, but it really bothers me that they would do that just 2 days before Christmas. :mad: I worked just 2 days a week, so my check was usually only about $350 twice a month. This company spends more than that per week on lunches (they expense EVERYTHING!) with co-workers on the company AMEX.

Then I actually braved the crowded grocery store to pick up a few things. What chaos! :( After standing in the checkout line for more than 10 minutes, some ditzy lady pulled her cart up beside mine in line. I just shot her a couple of looks, but she was busy fumbling around with her purse. As the line started to move, I moved forward and she snapped at me "Are you cutting in front of me?!?" I said, "Lady, I've been standing here for the last 10 minutes." and she said, "You weren't here when I walked up." Well, I just lost it on her and yelled, "Do you see all of these people here in line? Do you think you found the magical checkout? The short line? Do you think the cashier has reserved this short line just for you??" :mad: Then the woman in line BEHIND me said nicely, "Ma'am, we were all here before you. The line ends over there (pointing to the line)." I think she knew I was having a bad day and wanted to intervene before I asked her to "take it outside." At the time I was fuming, but now feel bad about the whole thing. :(

I could really use a trip to WDW right now!! :(

I'm sorry you're having a bad day. {{{{hugs}}}}}

Sorry to hear you are having such a bad day Tina. {{hugs}} I hope things look up for you soon :sunny:

Gosh, what crummy timing on the lay off! I'm so sorry that you are having such a bad day, hopefully things will look up and something really nice will happen to you today!!!! ((((hugs))))

{{{HUGS}}}

That is bad timing about the job.:(

I wish I could speak up like you did when people try to push me around. I usually just glare back at them and move forward anyway. Rude people tick me off badly.:mad:

{{{hugs}}} to you. I'm sorry about the job, and the lady at the grocery store. Hope things look up for you soon.

I'm sorry about your job. That is rotten to get laid off 2 days before Christmas. I have to go to the grocery store myself. UGH! I better start counting to 10 when I hit the door! {{HUGS}}

I've had days like that... Here's a little PD to brighten you day!

I wouldn't feel too bad, sounds like she deserved it. I really liked your retort. One time I left the line to get some deodorant about two steps away, there was a huge order in front of me and some man had moved my cart and put his cart in its place. I basically went ballistic on him too. Don't mess with a busy woman in line at the grocery store! Hope your day gets better.

{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}} for a better tomorrow!!!!

I know what you mean about the lines - I went to WalMart on my lunch hour today and the lady checking out my line said to the guy in front of me (after two very weird people checking out before him) "You know I generally like people, but today I'm double checking that!!!!" I couldn't help but laugh and said - "I know how you feel!!!!"

I'm sorry you're having such a crummy day. {{{HUGS}}} for you. I sometimes wish I had the nerve to let people have it when they are jerks in lines--it sounds like that lady had it coming. I'm just like you though, I would feel badly afterwards.

Thanks everyone for your support. I just took all of my aggression out on a very dirty bathroom (I was even angry with myself for letting it get that bad). I'm exhausted and feeling a little bit better now.

{{HUGS}} and try to have a Merry Christmas!

I bet you're enjoying that sparkling clean bathroom, huh? :D
Sorry for the frustration in the grocery store line, but a big (HUG) for the loss of your job just before Christmas. That happened once to me too, several years ago. My boss came in the Monday before Christmas and fired me. I had worked there 6 years (he was relatively new though) and never saw it coming. He had never said one word about anything negative. Never said anything like "I wish you would do such-and-such this way" or "I really would prefer you to....." Nothing like that. Just "I feel it would be best if I let you go and hired someone else." To top it off, I was a church secretary and he was the PASTOR!! I did enjoy seeing the job posted in our local newspaper more than half a dozen times in the next couple of years. I guess he had problems with every secretary he hired. I don't even think they have a secretary anymore....but anyway, it really stinks when they let you go right at Christmas. :(

I'm sorry Tina. What a crappy day. I would be annoyed with the line cutter as well. Just chalk it up to some people being self involved idiots.

Hope tomorrow is better for you.
