I know the cat, Sabrina, and bunny, the infamous Thumper, are never going to be the best of friends. We are having a problem though....one of the 2 keeps chasing the other and being somewhat of a bully towards the other. :( Could someone please give me advice on how to teach the RABBIT to stop chasing the CAT!!!!!! :earseek: A little bit ago, the cat was laying in the box from Build a Bear...not bothering a blessed soul. I bring the rabbit out for some 'floor time' with DH and I sitting on the couch. I tell DH to watch Thumper, normally she torments the cat. He just kind of laughed at me. Within seconds, the rabbit sees Sabrina and races towards the box, crashing into the front side of it, scaring the cat half to death! She bolted out of the living room with her hair all fluffed up! This is the same cat who has no problem chasing dogs, no matter how large, out of the yard.

Can someone recommend a good rabbit shrink? :jester:

Okay, that one I can't help you with. LOL!! Other than to say don't let the rabbit have floor time when the cat is nearby?

ROTFLMAO!!!!!

I do not have any advice for you, but I am giggling hysterically about your issue. My "fearless in the face of dogs" cat quakes at the sight of my DDs. Not a bunny, but I find the situation just as amusing.

Sorry about being no help. :o

That was one of my concerns too about having a bunny....

The thing is even though Thumper was raised since a bitty bitty baby he is still a wild bunny at heart... he might see Sabrina as invading his territory, competition for food etc. Like someone else said put kitty in a room and close the door when you take out bunny. You dont want either of them to get hurt. :)

That visual is pretty funny :)

Good Luck :)

Or he might see the cat as his love interest! My bunny had that problem. He just didn't know better.

I'd get that on video if I were you! LOL

Please don't stress the cat. Keep them apart!

Thumper could be going through puberty. He was raised with the cat so he may think that the cat is his mate. It reminds me of the Friends episode where Marcil made George not so curious any more.

Good Luck to kitty. I won't send Simba over though, you don't even want to know what happened when he found a bunny.:(

Good theory on the love interest....except they are both females! Sabrina has also been fixed years ago! :bounce:

I'll admit to being a total novice in the house bunny world. However, I think the foster I got my two from said spaying/neutering can reduce or eliminate agressive behavior. I sometimes cruise Etherbun on Yahoo groups to pick up info. Now, if I could only get my two to stop going after my electrical cords, it would be a good day!

Our rabbit used to charge the cat and the dogs. Rabbits can be fairly aggressive at times. Our cat learned to stay away from the rabbit when we had both out.
