Just having a little break while my cordless drill battery recharges.

I'm in the middle of building a new fitted bed for eldest DD :)
Once I've built the frame, I can then put the new laminate flooring down. Then it's consult the list to see what DW wants doing next

Still, if I work really hard she may buy me a curry tonight :)

Tim - tell me about your laminate flooring - in other words tips please cos we're just about to do the flooring in DDs new bedroom and after much deliberation she's decided she wants the "wooden stuff" . . . I know what she means;)

I'm taking a break, too - from getting the masking tape off the door of her room where I've just attempted to paint it. Why did we go and choose Portuguese Blue!!

I HATE decorating:( , but it's going to look so cool when it's all finished, it'll be worth it, I'm sure (do I sound like a need convincing here:) ).

We should have a club :)

I'm with you, Mrs D - I dislike decorating too but it's time to do it.

Today I'm polyurethaning a side table, hanging the new curtain in the living room, and taking down the drapes in the kitchen/family room.

Later on will be tackling installing wainscotting in the kitchen.

Have fun, everyone :)

Aloha,
Lorraine

Tim, you sure have been busy! Didn't you just do something beautiful to your fireplace?

Kath - Julie always keeps me busy on one new project or another :)

Mrs. Dazzle - The laminate we are using is from B&Q; called Floormaster 900. It's a glueless and just clips together. It's fairly easy to put down. You need an underlay (and damp proof membrane if laying onto concrete floor). The Floormaster 900 is recommended for any room apart from bathrooms. You also need a laying kit (includes spacers, tapping block and a tapping bar). The spacers are to keep a 10mm gap around the flooring to allow for expansion. If you can removethe skirting boards it makes the ob a bit neater, otherwise you will need to cover the expansion gap with some beeding (fastened to skirting not the floor).
A power jigsaw is useful to cut the boards to size.
The only time it gets complicated is round door frames and pipes :)
