Hello WISHers, I really need you guys. I am slipping and I need to get back on track. It all started with our vacation and then we finally found out where we are moving to, but we only have a short time to plan and moving from overseas is so complicated so I am STRESSED! This stress has found its way into my eating, I am eating things I normally don't indulge in anymore and I am eating at night again when I shouldn't and I just feel I have lost control a little. I know one of my fellow WISHers will have the right words to kick me back into gear....I really need it, I am only 13 pounds away from my goal and I need a HUGE push!

I think you have said the magic words yourself....

"I know one of my fellow WISHers will have the right words to kick me back into gear....I really need it, I am only 13 pounds away from my goal and I need a HUGE push!"

If I had already lost 50lbs! and was sooo close to my goal nothing would stop me from being strong and staying OP!!!

but if you need motivation

Do you have a picture of you 50lbs ago - put it on the fridge, cupbaords, in the bathroom anywhere and everywhere to keep yourself motivated in this stressful time!

I KNOW YOU CAN DO THIS!

 Debbi, I know you can do this!! You've been so successful at losing weight. After all, I just have to look at your gorgeous 50 pound clippie and 2 exercise clippies (9 months!) to know that you are committed to reaching your goal.

It can be really hard to deal with stress. And we have all been conditioned to equate food with comfort, so that's first thing we turn to when things get crazy. Your first step is to take a deep breath and figure out what you can do to change that pattern.

Here are a few stress-busting ideas. I know that you are going to be incredibly busy, but take just a few minutes each day to get rid of stress.

1) Exercise is a good stress reducer and has the added benefit of helping you reach your goal. When you feel the urge to grab a night time snack, maybe you could do a few crunches or some stretches, or if you have the WATP tapes, pop one in and do a few minutes of walking.

2) A bubble bath can be so relaxing and gives you a few minutes to unwind.

3) Turn on some music. Nice soft background music helps me to feel calmer when I'm feeling stressed.

4) Taking ten minutes to just clear your mind and meditate helps, too.

Also, using one of the tried and true methods for beating those cravings can help a lot. Brush your teeth instead of reaching for a snack. That minty flavor in your mouth doesn't mix well with food. Or drink a glass of water :drinking1 and wait 10 minutes. In 10 minutes you won't want the snack anymore. Imagine the food you are about to eat super glued to your rear and thighs! It puts snacking in a whole new light!

More  for you as you prepare to move. It sounds like it could be a good thing though, in spite of the short time frame. Will you be moving back to the states? I'll keep good thoughts for you and here's some :wizard: to help you get everything done!

Debbi,
Just keep on keeping on, and don't punish yourself if you do make bad eating choices. You are under a tremendous amount of stress and making yourself upset about this is the last thing you need. What's done is done, and maybe if you try to forget about the past eating, you won't be so down on yourself and then continue to eat like that because of it. (Does this make any sense?) Anyway, here is a  and some encouragement. Stay strong, you have done so well!

When you feel extra stressed come to WISH and vent. We'll be here for you.

In the meantime, keep "safe" foods around you and unsafe foods out of the house.

I hope the move is easy for you. You can do this!

Debbi, first of all, I would be MORE THAN HAPPY to come and help you pack and, make arrangements and, whatever else needs to be done. ;) It's the least I can do! :p

Seriously, you KNOW all the right things to do and, you know all the right things to eat...Heck, you've already lost 50 lbs+!!! You've also already conquered moving TO Italy, now it's just moving in reverse. Think of all your family, and friends (new & old) that will just LOVE to see you again or, love to meet & get to know you. That's a wonderful, exciting thing, don't cha think? :D

You've also quite recently broken a plateau, right? :smooth: That's takes a lot of patience and commitment. I just know you can do anything you take the time to do so, start doing for yourself again and, get back OP and, you'll feel so much better about EVERYTHING you have to face AND, about what you've ALREADY accomplished!

:worship:

Here for ya anytime!!
