You got the discount....I got the cash!! I would say a suite would be much more fun! Love to see Channing in the Ft. Wilderness though. (Just kidding dear) She would have a nice woodsy cake delivered, the RPC staff would probably come over and take care of us, private dining would have our food delivered and the Grand 1 Yacht would take us back and forth to MK.

That makes the Ft. Wilderness not seem so bad after all.

Oooh....that whole thing sounds great!! :thumbsup2 Any combination....wow...would that transfer our tents and luggage to RPC?:rotfl: :rotfl: Can you see that?? Us all dirty and our camping equipment being taken up on the bell services carts?? :rotfl: Actually we used to go up to Devils Lake WI twice a year....like Memorial Weekend and then Labor Day weekend and camp out with a bunch of family friends....now this was when I was a kid to teen yrs old - it was all arranged by parents. BUT it was a ton of fun. My friend and I won the canoe races a few times! We kicked butt. ;) I love doing taht type of stuff...but I also LOVE the GF and getting kinda spoiled. :goodvibes

Gosh, I hadn't considered CR - it always seems so ummm "contemporary!"

Yeah, the mods do not appeal to me either. I'm hoping to present some ideas to them tonight and maybe they'll inch their budget up somewhat once they see what's out there.

They have 2 boys, 9 and 7. They're from a small community and have never been on an airplane or on a family trip (except to the family cabin!) Man, I wish I could travel with them and show them around.

Right now, I'm thinking maybe they could do a split stay between WL and the Poly or maybe the Swan and the GF. Does Disney transfer the luggage if you're staying at the Swan?

If they could swing a split stay or even 6 nights at a deluxe, would you guys go with WL, the Poly($400 more) or GF ($600 more)? I know what my answer would be.:thumbsup2

Well, if they have boys...I'd say CR for sure. We have only stayed in the tower and THAT is awesome for boys. We started staying CR when my son was 1 and stayed there every year til about 2003 when it wasn't available and we 'had' to book RPC.:rotfl: The rest is history...except my son and daughters DO want to stay CR sometime in teh near future...they LOVE that place. It is contemporary, but honestly it is so exciting and full of Disney magic. For a first trip I think it's one of the best - you have the monorail zipping thru, the Chef MIckey's music constantly...the great arcade (it's so much better than Poly's and GF's) the shops are also great. It is just very fast paced and fun at the CR. If they can swing the tower, that is the way to go. I've done the Poly & it is OK, but my kids totally prefer the CR & GF. ALSO, at the CR you can go out on the boat dock in back and have a total front row view of the EWP...it's fun to boat from the CR over to WL for more dining options or just to hang. My kids love it. If I wasn't so hung up on the GF and the awesome service we get there, we'd be doing CR for them.:goodvibes With a family of boys....I think the GF might be kind of frou frou....JMO...because my son always prefers the CR.:upsidedow

YES the Swan will transfer your luggage to a Disney hotel. It works the same as a Disney to disney transfer. Splits are super easy. :thumbsup2

Marci - thanks - Jo is feeilng better....the worst was last night. She is eating me out of house and home today.:rotfl:

I can't wait to hear more about Lindsay's trip and see pics!! Mr. MIke's too!! Where'd they go???:confused3 :confused3

LOL on the rubber duckies....I will never look at one the same way again.....I saw floating chlorinators with ducks on top at Target the other day....:rotfl:

Hey...it looks like Crocs is finally making some kind of cute shoes.....check thse out...

Ooooh, thanks for that link. My two faves combined is a dream! I have so many pair of wedges but boy can the hurt! I do love the comfort of the crocs! Now when you see the tangled sweater ladies in their heels they might be comfy hippie crocs!

I do know what you mean...I just thought for the price, the location and it's deluxe. But if it's their FIRST WDW trip...ya...probably aim or a disney resort. I just have heard nasty stories about the WDW mods. I wouldn't stick somebody in one of those HUGE resorts for a first time, either and I really don't know with their budget if a WDW deluxe is in the cards??? :confused3 That's a toughie. The CR is VERY Disney...if they could swing a wing room that might be great. WL....was never a favorite of mine...You're from MN, so maybe you understand...It just doesn't feel Florida ish to me from northern IL I like palm trees and bright light colors.:) How old are their kids?? Are they girls or boys?? My son (17 now) has always LOVED the CR. My daughters, too, but boys seem to really have a thing for the CR.

It looks like all that's available is a garden wing suite - too much.:sad2: My DS14 loves the GF! It's his first choice especially if it's RPC but, yeah, the younger boys might think it's kind of frou-frou. I don't know. My bro and SIL deserve some luxury however and I think GF would blow them away. Maybe with 3 nights at WL, they could experience more "boy" theming and then come and enjoy the last 3 days at the beautiful GF.:thumbsup2

Which options should I present?

1. 3 nights at WL and 3 nights at Poly
2. 3 nights at WL and 3 nights at GF
3. All 6 nights at WL
4. All 6 nights at the Poly
5. 3 nights at the Swan and 3 at GF
6. 3 nights at the Swan and 3 at Poly

I should add they plan to concentrate on MK and AK though HS will be a draw because they are huge Star Wars fans. I think they may go the MNSSHP as well.

Thanks so much for your input!:flower3:

I would give them the prices for both 6 at WL and 6 at Poly (plus show them the resorts) and see what they think. I wouldn't split stay them on thier first visit...

I have to agree...I would not split them either. If they wanted to split I would split betweek the MK area and the Epcot area.

Hey all DH is off from work today so we ran and did a few errands. I am sooooooooo not going camping with Vanessa!!!! I have seen Friday the 13th :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :rotfl: she kind of scared me
at least at RPC we will be near security if she gets out of line with her ducks:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That is not possible...

YES IT IS!!! :rotfl: Did you look!?!?!?!? They're not bad....some are kind of stylish even!!!:snooty:

Well, personally I would only do a split if it were an Epcot/MK split. Otherwise, it seems kind of a waste of time....KWIM? I understand the money saving point of it, but you take all that time and you're kind of in the same boat as far as location. When we split, we either do a Swan/GF or a YC/GF for the change of location and the ease of transportation.

That's a thought, but I hate both those resorts....so my opinion is moot.

I have to agree...I would not split them either. If they wanted to split I would split betweek the MK area and the Epcot area.

Ya.....I agree....either don't split, or split for location factor.

OH COME ON!! It could be fun!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: We'd each have to take a shift to stay awake and keep watch. :rotfl: :rotfl:

You know what is funny... Channing and I live near a lake called CRYSTAL LAKE (Camp Crystal Lake is where the early movies take place)... Channing, is there a camp nearby??? :rotfl:

Thats go great !!

Guess what????!!!! We just booked Dec 10-14 in RPC!!!!! :cool1:  :dance3: :woohoo: FINALLY!!! DH said since it was a 4 night trip and Christmas, we should go for it. So, now if Channing or Kelly have any pull to get us a MK view room for Rees, I would be eternally grateful! We are just doing room only (rack rate, but I don't care!). I have an AP, a 3 day hopper for John, so I'll just need a 3 day ticket for the kids. We will pay OOP for the meals (may buy the DDE) and do 4 character meals/CS and eat the goodies from the lounge. Did I mention I was excited??? :woohoo: :worship:

Oh, and we loved 1900 PF dinner. The step-mother paraded the kids all over the lobby and the characters were wonderful, and they gav us 3 "Special Day" placemats for the kids. Narcoossee's was absolutely delicious. We had a window table, and the view was so lovely. I had the Surf and Turf, Sangria, Strawberry Shortcake, and a Firecracker (coffee with lots of liquor). Yummy!

Speaking of creepy and camping...

The other day BF was outside working and the doorbell rang. I just opened the door a crack (I know I shouldn't, but I did since he was around...somewhere...and we have an outside dog that will get somebody if they try anything funny). This guy asked me if he could camp out in our hayfield just for the night?!? I said "no, we are going to cut it soon and people shouldn't be on it right now" :confused3 (I couldn't think of anything else). So then he asked me if he could just camp in our yard. :scared: He said he had a tent and everything and would be gone by morning. Um, no! :scared1: .

BF came up and talked to him, and he left. He seemed nice enough but WTH?!? There is NOTHING about our property that would make you want to camp on it. It was really creepy, and I kept jumping at small noises all night (Afterall, I have read that serial killer seem nice too, sometimes... :rolleyes1 )

Amy that was creepy!

I am off to do the last minuet tidy so DH continues to think I am a domestic goodess! Lord help me if he ever drops by early :scared1:
