Hello to everyone and thank you for a warm welcome. I just came back to take a charting break...I'm a nurse...just finishing up with work today...half way through. So, excited to find a lively bunch...I keep refreshing my subscribed links page and there hasn't been much activity lately. I started wondering if that should be telling me something...like maybe I was really the only one here!!!:rotfl: Glad to see that I'm not alone...not even in the middle of the night. I was so excited, I told my DDs about this thread, over our burritos, which surprizingly were not burned...even though I let them overcook for 30 minutes while I got caught up with this thread. The girls completely understand how excited I am, as we ended up sitting next to another board member on our flight home. We coincidently started talking to the "stranger" next to us...and she turned out to be someone I have been "chatting" with for almost a year. My girls thought her boys were adorable and found it amazing that we all ended up meeting by such coincidence. I also threatened them with a mommy only trip, as I see that some of you have girls only trips planned...ahhhh, that sounds heavenly!!! Well, off to finish charting...be back later

That is cool about meeting another Disser....a nice one anyway.:rotfl: What a coincidence. :goodvibes I have had a not so nice one find me at the GF....and mostly really nice ones though - I have met some at the Gf and some on the monorail....once we met the same people a few times!!

Yes...we are chatty!!:thumbsup2 Mare is right...this is slower time for us with family home. :rotfl: A few of us have a mom only getaway coming up soon and oh ya we are stoked!!!!!!! I think my family vacatoin days might be about over. My son is 18 and very over WDW and family vacations:rolleyes1 ....my 8 yr old daughter prefers to be with her friends and her toys...and her tv shows. :rotfl: My 12 yr old DD is still my WDW buddy...and my buddy in general actually.:) But I am soo looking forward to my first ever vacation with girlfriends.:cool1: She understands I need it.:goodvibes

Dawn.
..LOL...I love when you call Nordstroms the "Mothership"....I think mine is Eddie Bauer...and that is a bit pathetic.:rotfl:

OK...night all!!!

Deb it was great meeting you & I am so glad you came up. Thanks!!!:goodvibes We have to do it again!! Maybe we need to go more south.

Chan

good morning ladies and marvel

It gonna snow here today and its making me mad. Its 737am and chris is already gone to work. I am gonna be baking today and working of course.

I am so sick of the snow already this winter, ugh.
Anty is still sleeping thank god!

Mare - we went to 1900 Park Fare a few weeks ago and had the best time. Those crazy step sisters were the best, and the Prince didn't look too bad either. Anastasia had a kid in the corner (I'm not sure what he said to her) and yelled across the restaurant for Lady Tremaine to come over. That kid kept saying that he did not do "whatever", so Lady Tremaine pulled Anastasia aside and she left the kid alone. I don't think the kid was scared, he kept laughing and his family was video taping it all.

Lcaemom - Welcome, come chat anytime.

My DH said that he wants to go back in December again next year - yeah. So now I get to start planning. I was thinking of maybe staying the first few nights over at either the Beach or Yacht club then coming over to the GF for the last few nights. We stayed at the BWI one night a few years ago, and were not that impressed. I know some of you do the split stays, do you prefer the Beach or Yacht club? We love Epcot and DHS so I thought this may save us time by staying over there. I hope everyone has a great day and Happy New Year!!! - Lisa

Good morning everyone

I want to stay here and chat all day...have to work. Need to get out and back before the snow starts. Should be back around noon, to chart and figure out what we're doing tonight...I guess it's just about time to make that decision.

Chan Yes, I couldn't believe I met her...we were sitting one row apart for an hour and she happened to strike up a conversation with my 7yoDD...who panicked because she thought a "stranger" was talking to her. So, I jumped in and as we talked I started to realize that I had heard some of what she had said in the past...all of a sudden in dawned on both of us. We screamed...our DHs just rolled their eyes at us. Mine just couldn't believe that I ended up "knowing" someone on the plane. It was great. I bumped into another board member, at the GF but, she wasn't very friendly either. Oh well!!! There were a bunch of us that were planning on meeting at the MVMCP but, that never happened. Meeting one board was very exciting...we just PMd this morning...hoping we stay in touch. She is from Ma, too.
I joke with my DDs at dinner about a vaca to WDW, alone...my oldest thought that would be a great idea...said "you should...you deserve it." Ahhhh, how sweet...does she really want to get rid of me?!? She's 13. My 12yoDD almost started crying..."how could you go without us?!?" My 7yoDD went with the majority...my oldest and me...said I should go but, then secretly came up to me after dinner and asked "would you really go without us?!?" So, who knows if that'll ever happen. Sounds amazing though!!!

Dawn I hear you about so much shopping and so little time!!! Never seems to be enough time. While we were at WDW, I left the GF for about 2 hours and went shopping at the MK...it was like a slice of heaven. I went to the bakery, strolled up and down all the little side "streets" that I had never taken the time to go down. Took a million pictures and went in EVERY store...things I can't do when the family is looking at me with their "hurry up" faces. That was my last shopping trip...Christmas shopping is NOT fun...when you try to get it all done in 9 days...the amount of time I had left when we got home from this trip. I am looking forward to the kiddos returning to school and DH going to work and having time to stroll...although that is the idea, it never does seem to happen. Maybe when I take my mommy-only vacation I can fit some shopping in. I am hoping to pop into TJMaxx...to see if the ones near me carry the H2O products, mentioned on the other GF board. I'm also wondering if I'll find the shirt I saw on day #1 of my trip, at SummerLace, that was gone when I went to buy it on Day#2. Not only was the shirt I wanted gone...the whole rack was gone!!! I was told they had probably been shipped offsite. I said "what does that even mean?!? Shipped to where?!?" As if I was going to rent a car and go track them down. Still on the hunt for this shirt...now I'm wondering if TJMaxx will have that, too. We just had a Nordstrom rack open near us...can't wait to get there. We have a real Nordstroms opening in another mall in April. Like you said so much shopping, so little time!!! Hope you are enjoying your shoes!!! Anywhere to wear them to tonight? My shoes tonight will consist of my Dearform Pillowtop slippers. LOL!

Mare Met in person?!? As in real coffee and pastry...or virtual coffee and pastry?!? Always up for coffee and pastry...or Mickey waffles. So, excited to have found you, all...chatting for 4 hours?? Wow!!!

Shell, Alicnwondrln, mickeynut1, blueskies and all others...looking forward to chatting with you all...just need to get out before the snow starts...which I may have mentioned, a half hour ago. Hope you all enjoy your morning...stay warm!!!

Good Morning All!

Dawn I saw the online ads for Nordstroms...40% off sales...very tempting!!
your mothership...:rotfl:

Kelly We are getting the same weather..to think last weekend it was 60 and tonight it is supposed to be in the low teens:headache:

Channing Meeting up with a not so nice DISser:headache: that must have been awful! Instead of heading south for breakfast how about heading east:) It might be cold here too...but its a nice place to visit...

Lisa When my kids were younger we always went in the beginning of December...not too crowded...holiday decorations and shows...Now with older kids its just too hard:sad2: But it will always be a favorite time to visit for me...

Lcae Another early bird!! This is a fun place to be...lots of nice shopping where you are...whenever we go to Boston I love stroling/shopping along Newbury Street....

Mare I hear you on the differing reports on all of the WDW restaurants...I guess sometimes you just have to try some out and see for yourself...We usually love the Plaza and had an awful experience last summer if it would have been my first time there I dont think I ever would have gone back!! But it is a tradition that we usually go on our first day at the MK...I guess I'll keep revising my ADR list until the 90 day mark and see what I end up with:confused:

Hi to everyone else on this very last day of 2008...boy the time did fly...

Keep warm..TTYL:flower3:

OK the "Mothership" (Nordstrom) was calling me....and I couldnt resist!

OMG i got a great deal on some Stuart Weitzman shoes too.....:rolleyes1 Good thing DH doesnt know!

Dawn, my "mothership" would be Bloomingdales :rotfl2: I LOVE Stuart Weitzman shoes!!! They are so comfortable! Way to go!! :woohoo:

We went to 1900 Park Fare a few weeks ago and had the best time.

I'm looking forward to it! Last June we spent 10 days at the GF and we never went there once. DS4 would see the open door to the restaurant and wanted to go in and see the characters but I just never thought he'd want to go see Cinderella - too girly I thought. He actually had never met a princess and was facinated with her. I felt so bad - bad Mommy for not getting one ADR in 10 days!!! So this trip we're having breakfast there twice and dinner one night. Breakfast was really out of convenience. I'd love to go to the GF Cafe, but if there's characters around, the boys would rather be with the characters.

Do you prefer the Beach or Yacht club?

I think the preference is Yacht Club. We stayed at the Beach Club and were not impressed. I don't care for the food options at the Marketplace (it's nothing like Gaspies) and I HATE short walk out balconies. The YC has full balconies, but then you're a million miles away from the Marketplace food area. :rotfl: I think for a night a two, the YC would work for convenience. I actually liked the Swan when we stayed much better than the BC. The Swan also has an amazing view of Illuminations. If you can get a good rate at the Swan, that would be my first choice, then Yacht Club.

I just read the risotto recipe - you're right! That's a lot of pots!! :rotfl2: But it sounds easy.

Mare Met in person?!? As in real coffee and pastry...or virtual coffee and pastry?!? Always up for coffee and pastry...or Mickey waffles. So, excited to have found you, all...chatting for 4 hours?? Wow!!!

Yes, the Chicago-area gals live near each other and get together occasionally for breakfast which turns into a 4 hour chat fest without the rest of us. Then they return here and tell us they were talking about us! :rotfl2: I'm here every morning with my real Starbucks coffee in my "Mom" WDW coffee mug with my DS1 on my lap!:rotfl:

Blueskies: So DH asked me what I bought with the money from the gifts I returned. I told him I decided to stash the money away for splurging at the spa in WDW and he told me I was crazy! He said to buy myself something NOW and not 6 months from now :rotfl: See, I try to be frugal and it just never works :rotfl2:

I had to mention to him that I heard on the news that luxury goods were down this season 35% - since there wasn't an LV box under my tree for the first time in like 6 years. He said he went to the LV store on Fifth Ave and the bag I want is backordered 6 to 9 months and he's on the waitlist for it! OMG since when did LV get waitlists? It's not a Birkin!!! Speaking of Birkins, I just read the funniest book "Bringing Home the Birkin" about a guy who goes around the world to buy Birkin Bags. If you buy enough stuff in Hermes, then there's no waitlist to purchase the bag. It was cute, but I'm not in the market for a Birkin. I don't have $30,000 laying around for a pink ostrich bag :rotfl2:

Kelly: Baking will keep you warm. We're supposed to get snow here too today. I'm so sick of it..:headache:

We're off to the supermarket. I hope everyone has a wonderful New Years!!

Mare

Just wait until Monday when all the kids and DHs are our of the house, we'll be up to 50 pages by then! :surfweb:

Welcome!:welcome:

Mare

You hit the nail on the head Mare......we won't have anything to interrupt our chatting come Monday :rotfl:.

Deb: I know!!! I rushed and got my ADR list ready and now nothing! :headache: I did get CRT for dinner and CM for both breakfast and dinner (it's the boys favorite, we'll just deal with blech  dinner) I already had to change CM breakfast twice! I hate changing ADRs, for some strange reason every ADR you make remains on your list. Even when you cancel them, they still stay there. So when you call and want to confirm your ADRs it takes the CMs forever to go through the list because they're not in date order and the canceled ones are in with the existing ones. So I already have 2 canceled ones on my list!!! It's just a crappy system. I hope that changes with the updated system.

Glad you got home safe. Have a good night!

Mare

We've always done a CM breakfast and dinner EVERY trip for the last 7 years and have never had a bad meal yet.....but we decided to give it a rest and not go in June just because we are CM'd out :faint:. I told DH we need to go longer than 7 or 8 nights because there are too many restaurants to choose from and I can never squeeze them all into just one week :rotfl2:.

That is cool about meeting another Disser....a nice one anyway.:rotfl: What a coincidence. :goodvibes I have had a not so nice one find me at the GF....and mostly really nice ones though - I have met some at the Gf and some on the monorail....once we met the same people a few times!!

That's just not right....."not so nice" and "Dis" doesn't go together :rotfl:

Yes...we are chatty!!:thumbsup2 I think my family vacatoin days might be about over. My son is 18 and very over WDW and family vacations:rolleyes1 ....my 8 yr old daughter prefers to be with her friends and her toys...and her tv shows. :rotfl: My 12 yr old DD is still my WDW buddy...and my buddy in general actually.:)

My 13 yo is still my WDW buddy but my 15 yo wants nothing to do with it. Your oldest and my oldest are 3 years apart but I'm tellin' ya.....they sound so much alike it's scary :scared:.

Deb it was great meeting you & I am so glad you came up. Thanks!!!:goodvibes We have to do it again!! Maybe we need to go more south.

Chan

I had so much fun meeting you, Dawn, and Kristin :goodvibes. We definitely have to do it again!!!!! We're really not that far from each other since there are so many places in the middle that aren't too bad a drive for any of us. And I'm pretty familiar with Dawn's area so I could navigate around there well :thumbsup2.

- Lisa

YAY for another December trip :yay:. We stayed at the BC in December 2003 and we loved it. The only bad thing about the Epcot resorts (or atleast BC, in our experience) was the transportation :headache:. We thought the buses were HORRIBLE. Not sure if things have changed in 5 years or not.......but it was not a good experience when we were there :sad2:. It didn't by any means ruin our trip......it just got a little annoying. If you plan on using Disney transportation while you're there, just build in some wait time as far as that goes and you'll be fine :). But we thought the resort was beautiful.....especially all decorated for the holidays.

My 13 yo DS told me the same thing. He said "Dad and I are always going dirtbike riding, snowmobiling, and doing what we want to.....so you should go to Disney with your friends....it would be fun." :rotfl:.

Hi to everyone else on this very last day of 2008...boy the time did fly...

Keep warm..TTYL:flower3:

Time sure did fly by WAY TOO FAST!!!! I still cannot believe Christmas is over and we're heading into another year.

Hi to everyone else. Hope everyone has a great day and Happy New Year!!!!!

Deb :)

Morning! :surfweb:

Wow I am so sleepy and having a hard time getting going today :faint:

My sisters birthday was yesterday and went out to dinner and our Nana joined us, she is like our mother! It was really nice and Nana was a chatter box, she even said crap once! :rotfl: It was a late dinner since my sister did not get off till 7 and then we waited almost and hour WITH ressies

Anyways, I had a fillet and baked potato and I feel like I am in a comma..... I don't eat red meat to often and i am wondering if that has something to do with it??

I need to get a diet coke! Devils drink :rotfl:

OK I am back and DS6 followed me into the kitchen and bugged me about wanting tuna salad and crackers...... :scared1: Would not leave it alone so i made a bowl of it and they are eating tuna and crackers at 10a.........an hour ago i made waffles :sad2:

JAN 6th cannot come soon enough! :woohoo:

OK, So who has got fun plans for tonight????? We are staying home and vegging...... probably snuggle up and watch a movie and then watch the ball drop and go to bed....... I miss those crazy new years that DH and I would stay out all night and have fun party's to go to! Now it is just boring

Does anyone make black eye peas and greens on New Years day???? It is a southern thing, I think, for good luck and prosperity. The collards are suppose to resemble money. Those of you that know me, know I think luck and all that is a crock but it is tradition that BOTH our grandmothers always did!

I am gonna start blogging again..... it is my new years resolution! :rotfl:

Alrighty...... off to read the 4 pages that y'all racked up while I was at dinner!

TTYL!

Good Morning and Happy New Year!!!!!

I just got up because at 2:30 am i had a coughing fit that woke me up and I stayed up until 4 am!:scared1: AND my boys were still up????? Teens totally noctural!

Hey Chan Im watching I Love Lucy all day! Vitameatavegimin is on....clothes are still classic in today's world! I love her shirt she has on now...I would wear it!

Lcaemom....I totally hear ya! Its nice going off on my own shopping and strolling...plus I LOVE online shopping! Dont your girls like to shop? My DD likes to shop BUT i dont like going with her....its always all about her! My mom are much more insync when shopping!
Yes...Us IL Gals met for breakfast (Vanessa and Evie we missed you!!) and talked about everything. My friends always ask me "what could you possibly talk about with peeps you dont even know? Do you talk about Disney?" We do but not all Disney...about everything!

Kel...I totally hear ya about the snow...we are supposed to get some tomorrow:scared:

Mandy...I have a good friend who makes black-eyed peas and collards (sp) every new years...

Deb and gals....we have lots of fun shopping here in Naperville and my favorite place for breakfast..Egg Harbor. We can def meet here....OR favorite place is Geneva...OMG the shopping there is awesome!!!!!! Did you ever hear of Little Traveler?? The BEST!

Mare..the only Bloomies we have is downtown Chicago, so whenever I get down there we always hit it! Nordstrom and Von Maur are my favs!

We are having our traditional Lobster Tail and Filet here at home....we never go out. Then its game night all night long...we have done this for the past 18years!
Be safe anyone who goes out tonight!!!!!

What are your New Years Resolutions? Mine are:
1. Lose weight..NO REALLY! after 5 1/2 yrs of school i really packed on the pounds:scared:
2. Do more scrapbooking! I love it....

ttyl...bttbc ALTJ
dawn

Hey all!!!!!:goodvibes

Happy New Year!! I just got done catching up....and I was laughing and smiling (and laughing because I was on the phone with Kel for a bit...OMG:rotfl: )...who knew I'd have such fun new friends....I am thankful for all you guys. :grouphug: 2008 wasn't a total sucko year.:rotfl: Close...but not totally. Eight WAS my lucky number....not anymore. I think EIGHT STINKS. I am moving on...there's plenty of other numbers to choose from:rotfl2:

Siobhan....I was worried about you.....I had to make Jojo some toast and cuddle and we fell asleep watching 'I LOVE LUCY" about 1 am.....She was fine though...no throwing up. I hope you finally fell asleep..... I know you have a fun night planned...but GEEZE!! TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!!

Dawn!! You too!!?!?!? I was watching that and laughing:rotfl:.....Jojo gave me the spiel about how drunk peeps don't always act like that when they're drunk.:rotfl: OMG.....I was gonna remind everybody it's the I LOVE LUCY MARATHON on TV LAND!!!!:cool1: OH! And while JO and I were watching it late last night we said the SAME THING about her clothes!! They are adorable!!! I love the ones that sparkle even in black and white!! OMG...I can just imagine what they looked like in person. Gorgeous.:wizard: Isn't that the truth about CRAZY TEENS!?!?!? Do you know....I called home after bfast yesterday on the way home at 1:50 and LUcy and Zack were STILL SLEEPING! WTH? Next week is gonna be PAINFUL.:headache: For all! I hope you are feeling better, too.....you and Siobhan have some wicked nasty bug. Enjoy your yummy dinner and fun family time. We do the same!:goodvibes

Lisa, Yay! Have fun planning your next trip. I prefer the YC over BC. I like the quiet peaceful YC. All YC rooms have balconies...BC might have a standing room only balcony or NONE! I had some crappy service at BC...now it was probably 3 yrs ago..but I haven't been back. Why bother? YC is better IMO. Also...like Mare said, if you enjoy the Epcot area so much the Swan is nice....and the rates are great. You can join SPG for free and possibly be upgraded, earn points for future Starwood stays ANYWHERE.

My mothership sent me a delivery today!!!!:rotfl: And it included a cute powder pink tangly sweater!!! I AM SO READY FOR THE GF!:rotfl2: That's all I need. :thumbsup2 I am so set....a tangly sweater....and...well...that and a case of wine.....details yet to be determined....:rotfl2:

Deb.
..well...I met a really wicked one...actually she found ME. That's why I don't post the family pics too much anymore...or in my signature. All Newfies pretty much look a like....so Tatum is not a give away.

Happy chatting today!! Really I am thankful for my new online and imaginary and not so imaginary friends.:)

As for resolutions....omg...well probably not to party as hard in 2009.:cool2: :rotfl: I am feeling my age.:rotfl2: JUST KIDDING. Hmm...maybe to write shorter posts.:rotfl:

Chan:cool2:

OK Finally caught up!

IL Gals! Glad you all had fun at breakfast! I love breakfast!

Kelly~ This little guy :drinking1 is your fave? Wow, never would have guessed! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I gotta call you soon! Hope you got a better nights sleep, did Anty end up in bed with you again???

Channing~ Lucy is so sweet to say you deserve to go! :goodvibes She is a good kid!

Deb~ glad the Gals did not scare you away! ;)

Dawn~ Yep mine is to loose weight too! I want to loose 50 lbs by..... before Feb would be great but i would need a miracle and lots of lipo! :rotfl2:

Mare~ $30,000 on a bag??? Total stupidity to me? :confused3 Even if you had Oprah money it is totally beyond me why you spend that much money on a bag when you could help so many in need.

My "mothership" is Target :rotfl: What can I say I am a simple girl! Vera B is as fancy as I get. Although I did find a Coach bag I liked but I am still to cheap for that, :rotfl: I remember when Oprah went to a Target...... she liked it, or at least pretended to! !

Lcaemom~ Welcome ! :welcome:

HI :wave2: Siobhan, Shel, Annette, Wendy, Amy, and any one else I forgot!

OK...im off to the dr..DH came home and I couldnt talk and said whats up with that coughing last night??? So he had to call the dr and make an appt cause I cant talk...they squeezed me in this pm.

My kids are loving this....so I use a spoon on the counter to get everyone's attention or bang on the wall:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Good thing I have Lucy to watch!

Chan...WTG on your mothership!

Afternoon Gals :)

Mandy......It's going to be a simple night for us too.......we're just having finger foods like cheeseball & crackers, tortilla chips and dip.......just munchy things :goodvibes. We are going to TRY and stay up for the ball drop but not sure that will happen.....we can't make it much past 9:00 most nights :rotfl: :rotfl:. I really enjoyed meeting the gals :goodvibes. We had a great time chatting......4 hours just flew by . I hope I can meet some of you other gals sometime.....maybe one of these days we'll run into each other at Disney :thumbsup2.

Dawn.....I hope you feel better soon :flower3:. I'm in for some shopping.....sounds like a good time :yay:. How is Oak Brook for shopping :confused3? We always go there for Maggiano's or Wildfire but have never really shopped there .

Chan.......YAY for the mothership delivery :thumbsup2. DS13 would sleep ALL DAY if I let him ......but DS15 is usually up pretty early :headache:......most times before I want him up :rotfl:. Doesn't he know I have to get my Dis-ing in while I'm having my morning coffee :rotfl2: :rotfl2:.

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Deb :upsidedow

Mandy....im with ya on the lose 50 by Feb. Hey maybe we can get a BOGO free on the lipo:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Deb...I LOVE OAKBROOK! Great shopping its my favorite bettter than Woodfield! I dont even mind walking outside when its cold. All great stores..Nordstrom, Macy's, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, Lord and Taylor, and all the rest of the stores.

OK i have to get off this computer and get ready for the dr.

dawn:sick:

ps...Siobhan hope you are feeling better too!

anty slept in his bed last night but he got up and was like where is kota...
he is to funny

i have deicded that some peeps in my family are wicked fish heads....
they STINK!!!!!!!!

Siobhan go to bed and get some rest you need a few days in bed and then I am sure you will feel better.

Mandy - I make Black eyed peas, collards and cornbread with a pork roast. I used to do it for New Years Day, but since the kids are older and DS and DH watch football all day , they want bar food and munchies. Thats why I do a smorgasbord of calorie ridden appetizers and junk for New Years and I do the Pork roast, cornbread, blackeyed peas and collards for New Years Eve now! Definitely a tradition around here.:)

Dawn - I hope you feel better!

Happy New Year to everybody!! :wizard:

Siobhan and Dawn: Sorry to hear your both so sick. Hope you both feel better soon!

Dawn: I go to the Nordstroms in NJ, they have the best sales especially in the men's dept. I really scored last xmas on Tommy Bahama stuff. I also love their kid's shoe dept. My DS4 has to wear solid white, velcro sneakers to school and only Nordstroms carries Lacoste Sneakers for him.

Deb: We had one bad meal at CM last June. We all got sick after the meal, one by one it just went thru each of us. Thankfully, once it all came out, we were fine - nothing like the Norwalk Virus or anything major. So we were a little nervous to return in Nov. We actually had an ADR for Ohana but my DS4 started crying at 9am that he wanted to have dinner with Mickey so from Nemo in Epcot I was on the phone getting a last minute ADR. :rotfl2: The food, service and characters were actually really good. I told DH from now on to expect the worst, then we'll be happy when it's not so bad :rotfl: I think that's my new WDW DINE motto :rotfl2:

Mandy: I have a designer handbag addiction that seriously could use group help! The Hermes Birkin is the "MOTHERSHIP" of handbags. If I was Oprah rich I'd have an Ostrich bag in a rainbow of colors :rotfl2: with money over to feed the poor - doesn't Oprah have billions now?? :rotfl2: What's $100,000 on a few handbags to her? Have you ever seen those HUGE diamond pear dangle earrings she wears, those suckers got to be over $1 million. Your talking around 10 carats in each ear!!

I remember watching Barbara Walters interview Bill Gates and she broke it down to this for every $20 the average person spends, he can spend $1 million. So when you look at it like that, a $30,000 handbag is pennies to them.

I love the episode when Oprah went to Costco for the first time. She flipped out when she saw the JUMBO bags of chips. That was one of the funniest things she ever did. Then at the register the cashier asked to see her driver's license because she was paying by check!

Chan: Thanks for the I Love Lucy reminder! I forgot!!

I went to the supermarket up in Westchester today and it was a blizzard out!!!! The snow was coming down hard. As soon as I got back into the city it lighten up. It's still snowing here, but not sticking. Outside the city had a few inches on the ground. All this for risotto :rotfl:

Well, I gotta go start slicing my mushrooms for my risotto. DH is so excited! He's really looking forward to dinner tonight. I picked up a cheese cake for dessert. I also got a lobster that was on sale. We'll probably have that tomorrow. We'll be home watching the ball drop just relaxing.

I'm thankful for all my GF Gals. I really enjoy chatting with you all.:grouphug:

I'm also on that list to get in shape this new year. I stocked up on all my healthy foods (cottage cheese, yogurts, WW entrees, Hostess 100 cakes, etc..) I think I'm going to start my diet Monday. We have to clear out a lot of holiday foods. Plus I want to enjoy the risotto and cheese cake

BlueSkie: You know that money I wanted to stash away for my spa and DH told me to spend it - well it went to the supermarket! :sad2: :)

I'm off to the country house again this weekend (if we can get in the driveway with all this snow!). I'll be back to chat on Monday!!!

Have a very Happy New Year!!!
