Hey just checking in...I had to pay some bills before we left and of course my little finger found the DIS bookmark!

I am just now packing..... I am a looser!

DAWN! Congrats! Can't wait to celebrate in FEB!

DH graduation is today and he has the day off and of course woke me up in good mood We are both just giddy, his boss took him out to lunch yesterday to celebrate and talked about how this accomplishment will affect him in 2009 and how bright his career was looking! Hopefully that means Eng. Tech 3! He is taking the spring off then headed back for two more years starting in the summer term, I have got a long honey do list so he is gonna work his fanny off! I have had FREE hard wood flooring sitting in a closet waiting to be installed. After the ceremony we are leaving straight for Orlando! The kids STILL don't know! I think I am gonna ask him something like "Daddy you just graduated from college where are you going next?" And have him answer "Disney World!"

Oh, the dog is staying at my parents...... should be interesting! I am gonna miss her!

OMG! I have got to MOVE!

Siobhan call me when you are headed to the MK and we will meet up!

Hi everyone, well we had our VIP tour guide yesterday at the MK. Of course it was the day that it rained for 2 1/2 hours straight, but "Bob" was very good. We bought ponchos, and kept on going. He knew right were to take us so we could do as much as possible, and not get too wet. I think we did about 15 things total and that included us taking an hour lunch break. We had lunch reservations at the castle and he got us a window seat - it was awesome.

Vanessa, you are going to love the tour guide. They ask you want you want to do and they do their best to make it happen. At first I was very scared because of the weather forecast, but we could not have done as much without his help. Good luck with your party, it will be wonderful. We are heading out to DTD in a few minutes, I'll try to remember to check on the price of the autograph book when we walk by the shops in the main building.

Maxie! Glad to hear you arrived and are having a nice time, too....bummer about the weather. HOpefully it clears up for you all. Is the Swan OK for you? I like it actually....I only prefer the YC over it in the summer for the pool...otherwise for the rates and location we can be happy at the Swan - second to the GF of course. Keep having fun!!!! Have a nice time shopping and visiting at the Grand Floridian.

we went to Macys because they had a good sale. Also had a card from mrs m mom who works there to get the employee 20%discount...and we opened a macys card and got another 20%. So we went a bit crazy and bought a bunch of clothes for our trip. Didnt buy 2 weeks worth though...i guess we'll be doing some laundry down there.
I did not buy any sweaters though... does a vest count?

And...my 3yo was supposed to go to ELMO Live on Stage tomorrow and now it is freezing rain and awful out, I usually look forward to a snow day off of school, but with show tickets I am bumed. She was going with her grampy, but it is not gonna happen.

We just got a note home for our pre-k child. they are planning a trip to madison sqaure garden for sesame street live.
I just don't feel right about letting her go...not if i can't be there.

I called UPS. I am going to ship everything out on Tuesday.

You might want to see an interesting thread on the GF MK view..... Maybe you'd get some good information off that thread......

Very nice on the clothes & the deals!! I love nice things...but I love deals, too.

I guess a vest would count....I am not sure about men's tangled sweater looks.....if you smoke a pipe while wearing it maybe that would help. And hold a brandy snifter. That might give you THE GF LOOK. Make sure Mrs. M is tangling her sweater....that way you will surely fit in. OH! And don't forget the little Ms....they have to have the look too.

oh..ya..I guess Disney figured with the popularity of the guides they could take advantage of the sudden demand and raise the rates.

Mare We are going in June too...I'll have to check out those Jet Blue fares...Nothiing was out when I last checked a few days ago Also just from reading the last few pages of posts (still have a lot to catch up on...)I guess BWI was less than terrific...glad to know..I was thinking of staying there for a split stay on a future trip...I guess not

A DISer posted advanced notice on the transportation board yesterday that Jet Blue was releasing dates thru Sept at 12 noon. I logged in at 10:30 am and was able to book them. All the flights were $104. I didn't think it was bad considering we're leaving Friday to Friday. I expected to pay more on a Friday.

BWI is awful!! The CMs are just idiots! If you really want to hear all my complaints (I have 7 pages worth!) PM me.

Mare.......WTG on the Jet Blue fares . Southwest just released their dates through June 26 but the fares aren't very good right now . I'm hoping they come down soon because I am very anxious to book for our June trip . When in June are you going?? There are a few of us gals that are going to be there the same time .

We'll be there June 12 to June 19. June 12 is my birthday! We'll be going to 1900 Park Fare for my birthday dinner. Far cry from last year's Narcoossee's I can't wait to get the Birthday Fun Card! It's only $65 but still I love getting free money!! I'd have to pick it up in MK so I guess I'll buy something at the Emporium. I don't know if I can use it at Basin? The fine print was really LONG and I didn't read it all on the website where you register your birthday.

Totally agree! I'd be uncomfortable with that too.

Last year DS4's preschool class went to Carnegie Hall by public bus! I was a nervous wreck. It's only one bus and it's not far, but just the thought of them on a public bus had me nervous!

Madison Square Garden is just so big and that area with Penn Station is just so crowded, I think I'd pass on that one. Unless you get more info from the teacher. How many parents will be going? Will they assign two children per parent? If it's well supervised, it might be okay.

Why can't they just go to the zoo like when we were younger??

I just got a call from Guest Services. They're looking into all my complaints from the BWI. They're giving me a refund for the price I paid for the club level upgrade and gave me a phone number to the VIP Planning Office for the GF. She said it's a "special" number directly to the GF General Manager's office? She said to call 10 days prior to arriving and they'll do whatever they can to make our stay a magical one. She said if any upgrades are available at that time, I might get one. Nothing guaranteed. They'll also have a copy of my complaint letter and know the hell I went threw at the BWI.

I'm happy with that. She was very apologetic and kept thanking me for sending the letter. She said it's very important for them to know what guest experiences are at their resorts. She also complimented me on my "detailed" letter. It was really too detailed

I just feel awkward calling a number telling them "I'm coming, get ready for me!" Like they're probably going to say to themselves, be careful she's the complainer!

Well, it pays to speak up!

Marvel I was never comfortable with my kids taking a class trip if I didnt go along...I was always the mom who would volunteer to go along...my DH went sometimes too...and Madison Square Garden... ask to be the class Dad

With teens its hard to know their schedules so far in advance...not sure who is going along on our next trip (except myself that is!!! )but I'm hoping to know soon so we can get good fares too....I'll just keep checking...lots of the girls have had great luck with SW...being able to change flights and get better fares with no penalites...

Seriously I was soooo stressing! It was a winter wonderland here! I am lucky that my power just came back on! A lot of people are still without! I even called a few hotels near the airport to see if they had availability for tonight and there was nothing!!!! Thank goodness my power is back,,,I cant say that enough!

Packing is such a chore....what to bring, what to bring???

Mare Sometimes sometimes you have to be the squeaky wheel as they say...if everything went well you wouldnt have had to complain at all...

At least your complaint didnt fall on deaf ears...

I would definitely use the number they gave you...why not..but its the GF you know it will be a great trip

June was so freakin hot!! So hot that we lasted one hour in DHS and had to leave at just 10am!!!

This trip we're all about relaxing. The boys just want lots of pool time. So I'm planning mornings by the pool (or the waterparks) then heading to the parks for the afternoon parades (we've never seen them) and dinner. I'm only making dinner ADRS keeping breakfast and lunch open.

I didn't find the crowds too bad, honestly it was the heat that was the worst part. The rain didn't bother us either. We actually liked the drizzle. It would scare people out of the parks! They'd be empty!!!

We really like June at the GF because we stay at the resort a lot more than normal. Plus you can see the EWP, Wishes, Illuminations all from the beaches. You really get the feeling your IN WDW without being in a park.

There's also a lot for us to do individually there. I love afternoon tea and going to the spa. DH wants to go on the FW Segway tour again. We might send DS4 on the Pirates Cruise or to Alice's Tea Party (I saw a LOT of boys in there! ) DH and DS4 love going to the arcade at the CR. I love to wander into MK for a frozen latte at the bakery then do some afternoon shopping while DS1 naps in the stroller.

I'm so looking forward to this trip!

I know, and I really have no second thoughts about it not being fabulous at the GF! I know it will be.

I'm just afraid of getting a label on my reservation. Like watch out for that one, she'll have you written up!

I don't have any special requests. I'm no VIP. I'm guessing this is the line the celebrities call. You know, have my organic vegan personal chef prepare all my food, the temp in my room a perfect 65 degrees at all times, I want Frette sheets on my bed starched white, etc....

Yeah, I'll call requesting H20 toiletries for a family of 12, a few towel animals on occasion and will be very happy with any room location as long as my view is not of a dumpster or the convention center!
