Having a clear plastic backpack works!

I had to get one for DN5's diaper stuff otherwise I wouldn't have one at all. ;). It works get for me- I hang it off of the handles of his wheelchair and keep my camera around my neck and my phone and money in my pockets.

I'm looking forward to august when I can just wear cargo shorts and leave the backpack at home. :goodvibes

I have a mesh backpack I got when I did the Disney marathon this year. I love it when I go through security. I'm sure it doesn't save me a ton of time, but when I have 3 kids to keep track of, a stroller, a camera bag that I do have to open, etc. It is nice to not have to open one more bag and worry about stuff falling out. I don't worry about people seeing what I have because nothing is that exciting in there - snacks, water, band aids and maybe some Advil! :rotfl:

I use the clear plastic zipper bags that my sheets come in. They are sturdy, and free, and when the guards look in my bag, they can just pull them out, see whats inside and send me on my way. Bonus, everything I have I can find easily, and I still maintain some privacy, (after the guards :))

I live in a town with three prisions. If people see a clear back pack here they assume that the person carrying it is a family member of an inmate, because clear back packs are all that is allowed at prison visiting time. I shouldn't feel this way - but I could never carry one because of the stigma they have here. Is it right? No - but it is reality

As an interesting sidenote, my stigma association with it is "school". Weird mix of school policies and some kids thinking clear plastic is cool for your purse *shrug*.
