Having a chocolate themed birthday party for DH - need input.

So, I'm having a chocolate party for DH's birthday - what should the invitations say?

I'd like to have a quote - like, a friend's party was "aged to perfection" for her wine and cheese party for her 40th - he'll be turning 30 and I want to incorporate something to do with the chocolate theme in the invitation so people know what to expect (I'll probably print them on my computer).

It's a surprise and I'm renting a chocolate fountain (with 5 "dippers"), having some nice wine pairing options and different chocolate deserts, as well as the Sam Adam's Chocolate Bock if I can find it - maybe Guinness, too - DH's fave.

Any ideas on how to word the invitations? A cute quote or something?

How about making up candy bar labels with the party info on them and handing out candy bars with your custom labels as the invitations? It would go along with the chocolate theme, you could use Hershey bars or Nestle Crunch.

I love the idea of candybars, but I have to mail a significant number of them and I'm afraid they'd melt or moosh in the process.

I found the CUTEST Susan Branch set of stickers that has one that says "A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men" and I'm looking for a stamp now, so I can stamp that on the envelope. I also found a scented ink pad that is brown and smells like chocolate

Any other ideas for the wording on the invitation?

I like the idea of putting the invitation on a chocolate bar wrapper. You can print them on your printer. Here's a link to a web sight thats gives you the specs on how to do them. I made one for my daughters 7th bday and she was so tickled to have her picture on a candy bar, she brought it to school and showed all her friends. Since it had a pic on it I used some cheap photo paper I had to make it and it came out really good. If your not using a Pic it should look good on regular paper.

I just wanted to pop in to tell you I saw a chocolate fountain on sale this weekend at Target for 30 dollars. I actually turned to DH who wouldn't even let me get a word out before he said no....

Might be cheaper then renting.

yeah it would! It's $400 for the rental - but they *do* bring the chocolate and send an attendant and stuff, so that's kind of cool.
