Am I the only one who 2nd guesses their choice in the resort the booked?
Just hubby, DS (age 9) and myself Dec 25-Jan 1 2018 CR theme park view in the tower, I included the Deluxe Dining.
I have always wanted to stay at CR during New Years, now that I have to have an electric scooter it seems so much easier.
But last summer we stayed at GF and I fell IN LOVE! There is no way I would pay for a theme park view at that price lol
Plz tell me why I should keep my plans, or please tell me why I should change them.
BW and BC also sit at the back of my mind lol
We go to WDW every year, so there will be a next time
With it being the actual holidays we will relax at our resort a lot, is there stuff to do at CR?
Mmmmm what to do.....

You are not the only one who second guesses. I will second guess our stay this time up until we actually arrive, I'm sure. This will be our first time staying somewhere other than AKL which we love beyond measure. We went with BWV this time because we were wait listed for Jambo. BW was our 2nd choice and was immediately available for our dates, so we figured booking it would be okay because it would force us to venture out and try something new plus secure us room. I can tell from the photos and videos that BW is lovely and will be a perfectly fine place to stay, but part of me is still a little sad we won't be returning to AKL this trip. It was up to us to book 2nd choice or wait for AKL, though, so if we don't love it, that will be on us. No matter what, we'll still have a great time at WDW.

It sounds like the Contemporary is a good choice for your current situation and you did say you've always wanted to stay there. You may as well give it a try. Like you said, if you don't love it, you can always go back to the GF next time.

We have stayed at a different resort every trip since 2011 (7 different resorts). I'm always second guessing because I'm worried "what if we don't like this one as much" and we always have a great trip and love where we stay. Doesn't change the fact that I still second guess it on the next trip lol. I try to make a decision early and stick with it though!!

While GF is my fav, I think you’re right booking CR. During the holidays it’s going to be packed and you can walk, or scooter in your case, back to CR. Monorail will be horrendous wait from MK back to GF.

If you're doing some considerable amount of park time at MK, CR is absolutely unbeatable. The ability to not use Disney transportation to/from is ideal. Of course with a transfer you also have monorail access to Epcot. GF is great but if the price exceeds CR by a substantial amount I don't think it's worth it.

The theme park view from CR is incredible, and your 9 year old will enjoy being able to see the monorail coming and going.

We LOVED the CR when we stayed in January of 2016! While we did not have a theme park view in the tower, we had a garden wing room and it was wonderful...I can only imagine how much more wonderful a tower room with TPV will be! Our room was nice and large. The bathroom in the CR standard room is set up well...the toilet area is separate, so someone can be going potty privately, while others brush their teeth. The Contempo Cafe is a great QS option, Chef Mickey's is a classic TS choice, and The Wave is truly a hidden gem of a restaurant.

It was fun to watch the monorail whip through the tower, and it's nice to have Epcot just a monorail/transfer away. However, probably the GREATEST thing about the CR is the quick walk to MK!! You can't beat that...especially at night. I remember feeling a little smug as our family walked past the monorail and bus loading areas and thinking that we'd all be climbing into bed before everyone else even made it back to their resorts. :tilt: We loved hanging around the resort, and we really enjoyed being able to see the Electric Water Parade from the CR at night. I'm sure it will be magical at Christmastime!

Enjoy every moment of your vacation... you made a terrific resort choice!

We stayed at the CR in Theme Park View in the Tower when the Christmas decorations were up several years ago. It has been our favorite view of the castle so far. It is a really pretty view out to MK at Christmas Time. It was so great being able to just walk over to MK. You can easily get over to GF to see their decorations as well. You will have a great time!

Definitely think you should keep reservations at CR. The theme park view is absolutely fantastic. I think you will love it. That alone is reason enough to stay in a theme park view room.

Don't overthink it! We've stayed at BLT, adjacent to CR and lucked out with a "theme park view" from our lake view villa on two separate stays. So amazing.
You will love it there!

The only resort worth paying Theme Park View in my opinion is CR. You will love the view.

Stayed there every annual trip while growing up and the view is still in grained inmy memories. Now I can't get my wife to leave the GF :snooty:

I would price out the places that I wanted to eat to see if paying for Deluxe Dining is worth it.
Oh yes we want the deluxe dining for sure, I don't like to worry about paying for meals while we are there, knowing it's already taken care of eases my mind. Plus hubby is a steak n seafood guy son it really saves us money. Excited that next year drinks are included!!!!!

When I was comparing the two packages today at work I can get a garden view at GF for a little less, so I guess its View and MK access VS beauty n luxury lol
The TP view is currently sold out for my dates, so glad I already booked it

BWV is our home resort and I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else! With easy walking to HS and EP (limited bus rides with 3 girls is a must for us) and the entertainment of the BW itself it is truly my favorite resort.
