I needed to wait for payday (which did not show up in the bank....uggg that's a whole other story)

I have not done any of the Christmas shopping yet. With DH out of work for over 9 months, we are definately cutting back.

That said, I have not started "Santa" shopping. The girls are a bit easy because they know what they want, finding the items may be hard. The boy are so much harder because they really don't wish for anything except for big ticket items......sax, drums, laptop, etc.

I just really wanted to see if I am truly alone or are there others who haven't started???

(Iknow most of y"all probably finished before Columbus Day - LOL!)

I'm done with shopping, well at least the bank account said i am. everything is wrapped up under the tree and ready to go.

This is my first year of ever having that happened. I'm usually buying stuff on the 23rd.

LOL - my bank agrees with your bank!

Actually, we scaled back so much this year that shopping was really easy. We just bought for the kids, who are both in college, and we went out and did it all in one day.

Done shopping, but then again, tonight is the last night of Hanukkah!!!! :)

The kids get presents from some of their grandparents for Christmas too though, so those are in the closet. Santa also brings a few things for the kids.....but I am sure he has those ready too.

I started but ran out of money so I had to wait for my Christmas bonus which came today along with a giant snow storm! I was planning on finishing tomorrow but it's not looking good now.

I guess now that I'm stuck at home I can dig out the christmas tree from underneath the basement steps and put that up.

Ugh! I really dislike Christmas.

Bank account says we're done.....although I still have to buy the food and stuff for Christmas and New Years. Have to wait on Payday for that though and that won't come till the 23rd....yuck!!!

I am done. I was done in yesterday. It we suppose to have a rain/sleet/snow mix tomorrow. I was going grocery shopping for Christmas eve/day dinner.

I got on board the black friday topic, and found most the things that I wanted on sale. So I got most of it done that weekend. I've been buying things here and there since. There was no way to afford all that I got without the black friday deals.

I spent a 100$ on thanksgiving dinner, of course there were a lot of good b1g1 frees that I stocked up on, and a few things that I normally don't buy like pies and ice cream. I saved 80$ though with coupons and b1g1s. I don't think I'll be doing a christmas dinner, just some of our favorites.

Well... you not alone.... DH HAS NOT YET STARTED! :confused3

I do all the shopping for everyone on our lists. All DH has to do is get for me... he takes the kids to pick out something small from each of them for me. Thats it. But, just like last year, he'll wait until Christmas Eve morning. Oh well.

Here's a funny. A few weeks ago I mentioned to him that I am completely done buying and wrapping, and shipping what I need to. He said "I was thinking maybe we shouldn't exchange between you and I this year." Had I just said I was done?? And then he says, "maybe we should get one big gift together." I asked if he had anything in mind... of course he did!! he wants to buy a really big flat screen TV for our Bedroom. :sad2:

You are not alone.

I am almost done. Everything's wrapped even - just have to buy 1 GC and mail MIL, SIL, nephew and BIL's presents tomorrow. :woohoo:

DH - not sure where he stands but he says he's almost done and considering we're supposed to get a big snow storm this weekend that's definitely a good thing.

but.....

As of the time I left work one of my co-worker's hadn't started yet - and she's leaving for FL on Wednesday

I am pretty much done except for my parents & I will shop for them w/my mom once they get here Monday.

I don't know how old your kids are but there are some amazing deals on Amazon! They have even gone down since I bought earlier this week. Way cheaper than what they are going for in the stores. If you order quickly & do the Prime membership trial, they will still be delivered in time.

Good luck, luckily my pay check came in the mail tonight so that's going in tomorrow. I still need to do the holiday meal shopping.

:lmao: That was "my" present from my DH last year.

Husbands, bless their hearts.

we had some shopping done, mostly for relatives etc as our main gift was our Christmas trip, but health issues cancelled that on Wednesday, now I am running like a loon trying to get Christmas ready sice we are at home. We had made decisions on items basedon size and travel-ability (?) but now that has all changed,, such as bargain movies for the drive down, mid weight coats for the kids as we have the down stuff here in Illinois, but not for damp rain of the 40-50's, Disney themed T-shirts..even the stocking stuffers were themed:rolleyes:...SO, those items ned to go back tothe stores and we need to start over. This is the 2nd canellation for this trip so giving anything WDW related is not going to be very nice or enjoyable. Even DS main video game, Toy Story Mania...but we are still giving him it...I mean , I feel like the Grinch in Whoville...taking back all their gifts before they even see them....it will all work out, but been busy with medical tests etc., so no real game plan, hopefully I can get my act together this weekend before everything is sold out!

I'm not just starting, but I still have quite a bit to do. I feel like I've just begun. I don't want to buy just anything, so it's taking a bit of time to get the right gift.

It's the men in our family that we're having the most trouble with. I need one present for our kids to open on Christmas eve after church service.

I guess I'm not totally alone. The good news is I did get my first pay....it posted overnight. The not-so-good-news......it snowed almost 6 inches. Here in central NC that only happens every 10 or so yrs.....so everything is closed, the roads are not too bad its the other drivers that are. (Being from Canada I LOVE it!!!!, but do get frustrated with the ones that can't drive and make it dangerous for others)

Tomorrow is the day! Santa has to come to my house, that is the priority.

Also, a huge THANK YOU to all on these boards. Y'all have been a great support over the past yr. I am happy to have a place to come to for advice.....and laughs!

I have the kids done for the most part but need all of the relatives gifts. I have to go out Christmas Eve when hubby gets paid. I think I am going to do giftcards for most of them.
