Haven't seen this tip on boards...can anyone verify?

They are real but not given out freely all the time, it's dependent on the CM.

And not all attractions always have them. They might get them every so often and when they are gone, they're gone.

Also asking for one directly may turn some CMs off from giving it to you even if they have one. It's something designed to be a special moment for them to create for a guest.

They exist.

Not all attractions have them. Not all CMs have them.

They are "pixie dust" and not be to expected.

I hate when those "tips" use these examples because it just puts the CMs in a bad situation if they don't have them AND it makes it NOT be "pixie dust".

I was just taking a break doing some web surfing and Yahoo had this article "Disney World Tips" so I decided to give it a look. Most of the tips weren't anything special and some weren't that good, but there was one that caught my eye...They said that if you have a child that doesn't meet the height requirement for a ride you can ask a CM for a special pass/certificate that will allow your child to cut the line for that ride when they reach the height requirement. They said for Splash Mountain it's called Future Splashmountaineer and for Space Mountain it's a Mousetronaut Certificate..

Anyone every hear of this or use it?

:rotfl2: my daughter sent me the link today of that article. we are going to ask when we go in just over 2 weeks:cool1:

so are you saying if you ask a CM and they do have them they are going to lie to the guest and say ' no sorry I don't have any " ?:(

Depends. It's supposed to be a magical moment not something everyone is entitled to. So some might save the ones they have to surprise a child with instead is giving it to someone who flat out asks for one. Others might not care at all and give them out to anyone.

Does it allow the child and one guest to skip the line? Can't see my own kids taking the plunge on some of these rides for the first time alone.

The CM told our son it was for him to bring his "whole family" with him on his first ride. They were really so sweet when it happened. We really thought he would be tall enough and then when he was just a tiny bit short, he was so sad. He tried to be brave, but tears started to well up in his eyes. The CM that helped us was amazing. They really saved the day for one little boy. I think it could have ruined his day-but instead he talks about it all the time and how special he felt.

I know for a fact this happens at Disneyland. I was there a few weeks ago with my cousin, and her son wanted to go on Indiana Jones. They were out of Fastpasses for the day, and the standby was like 70 minutes. My cousin whips out this card that lets her son plus 5 guests on, because he was almost tall enough but not quite a few months back. She said he has been tall enough for the past two visits, but it was closed both times. We all went on it an had a blast. However, at the fastpass area they asked to see the kid who wasn't tall enough last time, as he was behind me and they thought a group of adults was trying to cash in. Once they saw the kid in question the CM's high fived him and told him congrats. It was pretty awesome.

We remember the tickets from DS was smaller. We had a little pile of them saved up. Funny I don't think we ever brought them back. They went into the scrap book.

We had one for Rock n Rollercoaster a few years ago. It was called an Awesome Limo Pass. It had a place on the back for the CM to write in when the child was tall enough and rode the ride. The pass was good for our entire party! I carried that pass in my wallet for 1 1/2 years. When we went back to use it the CM at the gate told me to hold onto that as momento. According to him they're quite rare. I still have it.
