I was just taking a break doing some web surfing and Yahoo had this article "Disney World Tips" so I decided to give it a look. Most of the tips weren't anything special and some weren't that good, but there was one that caught my eye...They said that if you have a child that doesn't meet the height requirement for a ride you can ask a CM for a special pass/certificate that will allow your child to cut the line for that ride when they reach the height requirement. They said for Splash Mountain it's called Future Splashmountaineer and for Space Mountain it's a Mousetronaut Certificate..

Anyone every hear of this or use it?

My gut says it's crap.

And if it's not crap, it's very hard to get since I have been to rides many times with kids who are too small and have gotten the rider swap... nothing more.

Yes, we didn't ask for it, but when ds6 was 3 or 4, we went up to the ToT entrance to see if he was tall enough to ride. When the CM standing there saw he was not, she handed him a ToT card that said when you are tall enough come back to the FP line. I still carry it with me - however, ds6 has no intention of going on ToT anytime soon! That's the only one I've ever received.

Never heard of it and considering the poor little girl sobbing her heart out at Star Wars last week as she was stopped right before the ride for being too small I don't think she got given a certificate.

Her mum and brother rode and she was still crying with her grandmother when we got off. She obviously didn't get anything to make her happier.

It's not crap, my daughter got two of them one trip when she was too short for Splash and Space Mountain. We used them the next trip a few years later. We entered through the fast pass line if I remember correctly.

In December of 2012, my daughter got one of these for Thunder Mountain. We didn't ask for it, but a CM saw we were doing Rider Swap and just presented her with this small pass no bigger than a fast pass that said she would get to go to the front of the line when she was tall enough. We forgot it in January, though.

I think this is great for kids. Something to look forward to. Yet another hook by Disney.

Yep, we didn't know about them either, but my son has two to use on our next trip-Soaring and Star Wars. He was devastated when he couldn't ride star tours. The CM was so nice, gave him a card for next time and took him on a tour of the cue so he could see inside. He also gave us VIP seating at Indiana Jones. It was so kind and turned what would have have been a terrible day for a little brother into one of his most memorable. THIS is why we go to Disney every year. While I have been upset by some of the changes with FP, etc-I really hope this kind of experience never changes!

We did it on thunder Mountain when my son was 4. He was just a hair too short, so he was very sad. the FP line CM was super sweet, gave him the card and said you get to go to the front on the line once you are tall enough. When we returned he was so proud, he gave the person the card inside and told them he was tall enough, the girl told us to tell the CM downstair it and seat us in the fron tcar. It was great.

Yes. My nephew got one when he was 4 in 2003. He was happy with getting it but I'm sure it was soon lost as I don't remember using it. That vacation he would get so sad when he was the only child that couldn't ride.

How interesting. We never got one of them in all our visits, with lots of extended family, and plenty of little kids just missing the height requirement.

Oh well...we've gotten a few other special little fun free paper certificates over the years, but most don't offer any real benefits. The few that did give us a bonus fastpass benefit, we don't usually use. It's too much fun keeping them!

We were offered one in 2009 at Soarin when I mentioned to a cast member that my daughter was waiting outside with Grandma.

We also saw multiple people get these at BTMR, Space, Splash and ToT in 2012.

Maybe they only do them on select rides at certain times....:confused3

They had them at Everest two years ago. The CM measured DD's height and when they said she was tall enough- she got very excited and started jumping up and down. They gave her a pass to go to the front of the line- and it was one of the passes for kids to use when they come back and are tall enough.

Does it allow the child and one guest to skip the line? Can't see my own kids taking the plunge on some of these rides for the first time alone.

They used to do this because my DS got one for RnRC back about 3-4 years ago, unprompted.

However, in October 2012, my DD was just short of 40 and did not receive this at Splash or Star Wars.

My guess is that they did away with it about a couple of years ago.

My daughter has one from Dinosaur. I think it is good fir 8 people because there was 8 of us in line.

The issue is that they are very very rarely used. I doubt that all CMs have them, I doubt all CMs know of them.

DS got them twice out in Anaheim. Both times he was being very very sweet and good, and was disappointed but not making a big deal about it.

By the time we went to WDW he was big enough for everything.
