Haven't been to CBR in 3 years, how is it these days?

Just booked my St. Patty's trip for 3/17 to 3/23, staying at CBR on an AP rate of $104.00/night. Got my plane ticket too so I'm all set.

How is CBR these days? Didn't they undergo a refurb not too long ago? Can anyone suggest which "standard" section we should request? (I didn't get the "preferred" section although if it is worth it, willing to pay the extra $10.00 for it)

My four year old is very excited because he thinks the pirates are there. Pirates ....of the Caribbean (Beach Resort)

So who has had a recent experience at CBR? How was it?

We were there Dec 3-10th and LOVED it!!! I guess the whole place was renovated in 2001? Check out the FAQ thread that SafetyMom has, it's awesome with links to pictures too! We stayed in Barbados 1644, definitely not preferred, but the walk to OPR and the pool was nice in my opinion and we really enjoyed the scenery! It was at the most a 5 min. walk, but I powerwalk, so it may vary. The room was a corner room with 2 windows which was nice. It was also, SPOTLESS! There have been posters who have had some problems with dirty room/bathrooms, but our room was very clean (an I am obsessive about cleanliness!) I just love the CBR and it's surroundings and all of the CM's we came in contact with were wonderful. I hope you have a wonderful stay, let us know how it was!

We stayed in Barbados (I think our room was 1630) Dec 5-9th! We probably passed each other. I loved CBR (stayed there in May 99, too). But the walk to the food court was definitely too long for my taste.

We stayed at CBR in Barbados last August, moved there from ASMo and we LOVED it!! My boys were 4.5 and 1 month shy of 9 and they thought it was awesome also. The walk wasn't that bad, but it would've been nice to be closer. We would start off at the Main pool every evening and then end up at the Barbados quiet pool! LOL We would love to stay there again

We stayed @ CBR Sept 2003. It was our 1st visit to WDW. We were apprehensive at first, but was pleasantly surprised. We stayed in Jamaica #41 and our room was clean and very comfortable. We had a great time. I think you will pleased in your choice of resort. We are returning again this Sept.
