Hi all,

I haven’t been on a plane since ‘19 so I wanted some refreshers. I’m a little nervous since I haven’t flown since Covid. My flight leaves at 7:20am. How early should I get to the airport? I’m only bringing a carry-on. It’s 3oz per item? Correct? For some background info I’m flying from JFK to Orlando this July. Any advice is appreciated! My flight coming home is at 3:45pm. What time should I leave my resort (POFQ)? I’m confused if I should book a bus ticket or take an Uber when I get to Orlando. I know that’s a personal choice.

Thank you as always,

You should arrive at the airport 2 hours before flight time. Boarding usually starts 30 minutes before flight time. Since you're a little nervous I suggest getting to the airport two and a half hours before flight time. You might end up sitting around the airport for longer than you'd like but that early arrival will ease mush of your nerves.

You should leave your resort at 12:45pm if taking Mears or Sunshine. That (again) may leave you with some boring time at the airport but I know for me that being bored for an hour at the airport is much better then being anxious that you'll barely make the boarding.

You're correct, ride share or bus is a personal choice. I very much enjoy taking the bus - I'll be trying Sunshine Flyer for the first time on my upcoming September trip.

Thank you! I appreciate it. Silly question, but how do I book Sunshine Flyer? I give them my flight info like ME?

I'm fully aware that the "Mush of your nerves" was either a typo or the infamous autocorrect but I have to say it pretty much accurately describes my feelings on flying since the mid 2000s which was my last time in the air. Thanks for the smile @StageTek

Can someone help me on picking times for Sunshine Flyer? They make you pick the times and it’s confusing. It says pick the time your flight arrives. I’m supposed to arrive at 10:11am. And for the pick up, do I pick the time three hours before my flight or when my plane is supposed to leave? Confused. Thanks!

You pick the hour-long periods during which your flights are scheduled to arrive and to depart. If your arrival is scheduled for 10:11 AM, check the 10 AM - 11 AM box. Same for your departure time - check the hour-long period that time falls into, and Sunshine Flyer will count backwards to set your pickup time. You'll also enter your flight information, and they'll monitor those flight numbers in case of changes.

Thank you! Very much appreciated.
