Have your glasses ever fallen off?

I use a sport strap on any ride that is even questionable. I'm pretty blind, so riding without my glasses is not an option (I wouldn't see anything). I put it on as I near the boarding area.

Honestly, for most rides at WDW the strap is unnecessary, but it gives me peace of mind. There are a few rides at Uni where I was glad I had it though!

DH lost prescription sumglasses and was also obessed for days with post and found. Which btw is at the ticket transportion center. Pain in as s to get to as it takes time.

Thought my contacts were going to fly out on rNR. Kept my eyes squinted the whole time. The rocket start gets the wind going. And I am blind!!!

Never lost a pair on any coaster, though I really thought I might when I rode in the front seat of SeaWorld's Kracken! However, I must be honest and say that after our family trip four years ago I decided to get contacts to wear at theme parks. I just had had enough of switching between glasses and sunglasses when going in and out of the sun and not being able to see on the rides at the water parks.

On the second day of a ten day long trip, my glasses were lost in the wave pool at Aquatica. We were headed to Wilderness Lodge and Disney the next day and in my head I was already thinking how we could somehow get to a one hour vision place and get my prescription in contact lenses or something. We were looking all around the shallow part of the HUGE pool after the waves stopped, but c'mon, we didn't think we would find them. The lifeguard thought they would already have been sucked back into the filters and thought maybe they'd be found but seemed pretty doubtful.

Then, suddenly, one of my boys says, "Are those your glasses?" Or words to that effect, and lo and behold, he had spotted them skimming along the bottom of the pool! Barely a scratch on them!

Not glasses, but I have accidentally dropped my sunglasses in the 3D glasses return bin on multiple occasions. MULTIPLE!

My DD lost her glasses a few years ago. She is legally blind without them. She is disabled and we went on Dinosaur ... I think she was so busy hanging on they fell off! She was very scared on the ride. In the picture you can barely see her! Anyway we never did find them. We like to say a dinosaur must be wearing them! :rotfl:

I managed to crush a pair of glasses on Rockin Roller Coaster a few years ago. Forgot I had them in my breast pocket when the restraints came down.

I chalk it up to stuff happens.

No, and I only take them off for RnR. Outside of Disney, I take them off on any roller coaster that goes upside down. Though, a few weeks ago I learned that they move a little too much for my liking on a wooden coaster at Six Flags Great Adventure, that was a little scary lol I can't see a thing without them on, which sucks on coasters since I love to look at the views.

I bought one of those Mickey strings for the fast rides. Then I don't have to worry. The biggest problem is remembering to bring it the next time.

My son was going down Pelican's Plunge at Castaway Cay, when I was frantically trying to get his attention to take his glasses off. Of course he didn't hear me and when he popped up in the water...no glasses! He also had sunglasses attached to the glasses. He has terrible vision without them. He went to the lifeguard to ask what he should do. The lifeguard said that at the end of the day, they send a scuba diver down to collect all the things people have lost on the slide. We waited patiently for the diver to come up with his first sweep of the bottom. He came up with many pairs of glasses some necklaces and wallets. Of course his glasses were not there. On the divers second dive, thank goodness, were his glasses. We never got the sunglasses back, but we were just thankful for the glasses! I didn't realize that people lose so many things in a short period of time on two slides!!

I never have, but I remember that every time I rode Splash Mountain as a kid, my parents would make me take them off. I can't see anything without them, so I never really got to see the ride until I was an adult :rotfl:

My DH lost a pair of sunglasses on a really tame ride - Journey Into Your Imagination. He propped his sunglasses on his baseball hat when he entered the building. When the ride vehicle started he took off his hat and flung the sunglasses out of the vehicle. A CM did have them for us at the end of the ride.

If you are wearing regular glasses properly on your face the chance of losing them on any Disney ride (outside of water park rides) is reeeeeeeally slim. On our last trip I wore mine on every single ride including Rockin' Roller Coaster. They didn't budge.

It is totally different than sunglasses. Those can fly off the top of your head very easily.

Not me, but my friend had a pair of expensive sunglasses fly off his face on Space Mountain even though I warned him he should take them off and secure them before the ride started. The worst part was, he found them at the end of the ride when he stepped on them - they had landed in the bottom of his sled.

My odd had hers fall off on RNRC. They were on floor of car at end of ride. Phew! I also caught mine midair on a coaster, but can't recall which one!
