Have you used the hotel babysitters?

I'm trying to plan a special "alone" evening with the hubby during our trip. Of course, I'm a worried mom and want to know if any of you have ever used the babysitters that the hotel provides. If so, how was your experience? We plan to go to dinner late, so I'm sure the kids will just be passed out from being in the park all day. Did you trust them. Also, I'd like to go dancing in Pleasure Island after dinner.:woohoo: How late did you leave your kids with the sitter? Please help...:scared1:

Welcome to the DIS.

This is a *hot* topic here - just to warn you. These threads get heated. Your best bet is to do a search for this question and check out some of the past threads. You'll see posts from people who have used them and get their reaction, and mixed in will be some, er, other posts :) along the lines of "how could you think of leaving your kids with a sitter while on vacation." Take it in stride - we're a playful bunch most of the time and we mean well in spite of ourselves. :goodvibes Have fun planning your trip!! :Pinkbounc

Yes we have used Fairy Godmothers to come to the room and sit with our neice while we enjoyed a dinner out. They were wonderful. :thumbsup2

We've used Fairy Godmothers about a half-dozen times. It's a small, family run company. Kids Nite Out is another choice, and they have a website...kidsniteout.com.

The first time we used a sitting service, we stayed onsite at the hotel for dinner, so I could run back and check on the situation.

After that time, we started venturing further afield. Our sitters have brought bags of toys, which always fascinate DS. He's sound asleep by the time we get home.

We used kids night out twice during the same trip. The first lady we got was a grandma type and didn't jive with my 3 kids. She really didn't give our kids any attention. My daughter said she read a book at the table and told them to go play. We were mad. The next day we called and asked for someone who will at least show the kids some attention. What a difference. The person was great and the kids liked playing with her.

So our experience was 50/50. Not sure how old your kids are but you may want to plan accordingly.

Have fun.

Does any one else have any info on kids nite out?? We have booked them for our upcoming vacation. But I am unsure. We have a 9 month old. I would have loved to bring a babysitter but we don't have one. I am getting more and more nervous. Please don't blast me....I have enough mommy guilt since I work full time.

Which hotel provides babysitters?

None of the hotels really do, but Disney recommends Kids Nite Out, a separate company.
