Has anyone tried Marrakesh in Epcot? It sounds like an interesting place to eat. Any opinions?

Yes we went in on our last trip, and I thought it was great. I'm sure the menu is online somewhere, but there were these savory puffs of meat and cinnamon that were soo good! And they had a dessert that was like pastry sheets, honey and vanilla ice cream. I'm sorry that I'm giving such generic descriptions, but I would definitely go back, and I think if you're wanting to be a little adventurous, it's worth a trip!

YES! It's one of my fave WS restaurants! It's relaxing, beautiful inside, and there is live entertainment (band and belly dancer!). I've never known it to be crowded, it's kinda off the beaten path... YUMMY food - we enjoyed it all!

Highly recommend it!

Thanks for the replies. I checked the menu on Allears and the menu looks interesting. Do you think my DSs (12 and 14) would like it? The 12 year old will try almost anything, but the 14 year old is a bit more conservative with his food choices. They would definitely enjoy the bellydancing!

We ate there for the first time in Feb. It was great. We are planning on eating there this coming week. The beef kabobs were wonderful, tender and very tasty. The chicken bastilla appetizer is very good. I also had a very nice cocktail. My mom is a conservative eater and I would recommend that she get the beef or chicken kabobs. They were marinated but not too spicy.

My DS (6) is a rather picky eater. He had a hamburger with french fries. He told the waiter that they were the best fries, the waiter then brought him another plate of fries. My DS also loved the bread that they give you.

I have been to both Restaurant Marrakesh as well as the Tangierine Cafe (the counter service restaurant in Morocco). While I did think the food was good at Marrakesh, I actually prefer the Tangierine Cafe. While it doesn't have the exact same entrees as Marrakesh, it does have excellent Morrocan food. In my opinion it is the best counter service restaurant in WDW for both quality and price. The outdoor seating in the courtyard is also very nice, great atmosphere. Because we always end up eating at the Tangierine Cafe during our trips we probably won't return to Marrakesh.

This was our former favorite (its been replaced in our hearts by Le Cellier) - and its still a favorite spot of ours.

I think you'll find plenty to eat. You may want to pick up a box of couscous at the grocery store before you go, if you've never had it. Its a staple for most of the meals (served instead of rice or potatos). We always do a samplier, and always have a great meal.

Restaurant Marakesh was actually of fav meal of the trip (and the cheapest sit down one too!). We went for lunch, and it was a great place to relax. The food was EXCELLENT!! LOVED the vegetarian couscous. There is a lot of chicken and kabobs that might be okay for a picky eater. The service was great, and it is fun to have the entertainment as well. Definitely worth a try!!

I love Marakesh! It is definitely one of the best restaurants I've ever been to inside or outside WDW. They have wonderful food, beautiful atmosphere and enjoyable entertainment. We had super friendly waiters/waitresses both times I ate there too. :)

I gotta go with everyone else on this one... marrakesh is our Favorite World Showcase resturant. We decided to give it a try one day, since it was the only resturant we had never been to and we were plesantly surprised.

As for the picky eater I agree that the menu seems a bit odd, but I always get the Lemon Chicken, not too off the wall. Definetly recommended by this family :cool1:

We finally tried it on our trip last year. I'm also a picky eater, and had been wanting to try it for years but had never worked up the nerve. The beef brewat rolls and chicken bastilla were fabulous! Mom, Aunt, and I ended up getting the special posted on a sign outside the door. It came with a brewat roll, chicken kabobs, and the apple crepes, and it was all very good. Grandpa got the lamb and said it was moist and tender. The day we ate there it was pouring rain and completely empty. I had made a PS, but we certainly didn't need it. If nothing else, I'd like to go for appetizers and entertainment on our next trip.

Yes, we loved the brewat rolls as well. I think we go because it is different from the Chinese, Mexican, Italian fare that is pretty abundant where we live. it's a great sit down break from walking around, I loved the desserts, too! Definitely try it once if it's triggered your curiosity!

We like it for lunch. Never have had to use a PS. If you like fiery foods ask for some dynamite sauce(not on menu) for dipping your bread into or for adding some heat to your meal. Have a fire extinguisher standing by. Enjoy the entertainment.

I have to agree with everyone. We love this place. My aunt and uncle actually ate there 2 yrs before we did, and highly reccomended it.
We had a large group, with age ranges from 5-62. Even my picky niece enjoyed the food. Most of us had the lunch special that Ashley mentioned.
