We are in the process of booking our annual Sept. WDW vacation and we are seriously thinking about staying in the tower at the Contemporary.

We have stayed at The Contemporary before, but we stayed in one of the wings of The Contemporary. We are wondering who has stayed in the tower, and if you liked it.

If you didn't like it, we would really like to know why. One peson we know didn't like it because they said, "they were at the mercy of the elevators all the time." This personally doesn't bother me at all.

If you would all write in - we would really appreciate it!!!!

I loved the Tower at the Contemporary. We stayed on the lake side. Even though we really wanted Cinderella's castle view, the lake was beautiful. We saw Epcot's fire works from there and the electrical water parade from the balcony. There is no draw back to me. The rooms are large and beautiful, and being up in the tower is wonderful.

I hope you do it and love it. It is my favorite place to be. We've been trying out other resorts, but I can't wait to get back to the CR tower!!!

Hi!

We stayed in the towers on the 11th floor facing MK, April 2004. WE LOVED IT!!! The view was awesome! Being able to watch the castle change colors at night, viewing Wishes from our balcony and just being so close to MK was incredible! The staff was wonderful, everyone was so nice. Having the monorail right there was great. The room was large and mousekeeping was very good. We were on the platinum plan, so we had access to the concierge lounge on the 14th floor. The staff there was excellent. Any problem we had they fixed it quickly and the food there was super. We would go back without a doubt. We really had a magical time.... :)

We stayed in the Tower for the first time a couple of months ago and words cannot express how much we LOVED it!! One of our favorite things was watching the monorail and listening to its quiet rumble as it went through the building (I will never forget that sound--a very special part of the magic for a lifelong monorail-lover!). We also loved hearing the faint sounds of the Chef Mickey's music when we were getting ready to go to the parks in the morning. We enjoyed being able to stroll around in the nice shops during the afternon rains without getting wet. And best of all was the view from our balcony--a perfect MK view, spectacular for watching Wishes! All in all we felt like we were really in the middle of the "magic" 24/7 and that is what we enjoy. CR Tower might not be best for someone who wants to be able to escape the Disney hustle and bustle now and then.

I didn't feel like a slave to the elevators (though they were noticeably slow). We did get spoiled by the end of our trip and were wishing there was a direct elevator to the monorail platform (instead of having to take elevator, then escalator or other elevator). Looking back I can't believe I was that spoiled! :p

If you enjoyed the Contemporary wing room, I am quite sure you would love the Tower (I think people who don't really like CR are put off by things like the odd theme, wild decor, not-so-thrilling pool, etc. which would be the same in wing rooms as tower rooms). The only huge drawback to the Tower rooms IMO is the huge price. We got an extremely good discount on our room; otherwise we would certainly not have chosen to stay in the CR Tower. I'm so glad we were able to this time, though!

Have fun making your decision!

We stayed in the CR tower after spending 3 days at the Poly - did a split stay between the two last April. I have to say we loved the CR tower and preferred it to the Poly. Very spacious light and bright rooms, lots of activity down below - both in the lobby and outside. We did face the MK and saw a great fireworks display. I believe we were on the 7th floor. And I recall no issues with waiting for elevators, we were there during Easter week and the place was full. And we loved walking over to the MK and not having to wait for transportation if we didn't want to.

The Poly seemed dank and dark to us - I'm glad we did the CR last as we really needed the light and bright and expansive views after being at the Poly. We'd certainly stay in a CR tower again sometime.

We're spending our third stay in the CR tower in a few weeks, with another trip already booked for next July. We've never had to wait long for elevators. You will love it- my kids chose the CR tower every time we plan a WDW vacation

My thoughts are similiar to travellady--I loved the CR tower and found Poly to be very dark. The tower rooms were big! I felt like I was in the MK backyard. From the pool, you could even feel like you were in the MK backyard. I loved the decor, and the people were friendly and the lobby was big and bright and open, so unlike the Poly. Our elevators were fine. I didn't notice waiting. How much slower could they be than other elevators (????).
I loved the ease of picking up the monorail and being in the MK in 10 minutes. I would do it again in a minute. I felt like I was visiting Walt's hotel. Good luck!\

Yup! We've stayed in both the Tower & Wings. Loved them both. We found the elevators very fast & never had to wait long for one to come. The view is just incredible, it doesn't matter what side you get. We were on the 14th floor, lake side. We would watch the fireworks from the concierge lounge.

I have photo's of both views in my bottom link.

We stayed in CR Tower a few years back and I was shocked at how much I enjoyed that stay! The rooms are very large and comfortable. Our room faced the lagoon, the boat parade at night was an added bonus. I do wish that we would have had a room looking towards MK. The monorail was great and walking to MK is a snap from there.

The one negative memory I have of our CR Tower room was NOISE!! Particularly at night. With Chef Mickeys open until 10pm and the boat parade on the lagoon around 1015pm, we could not get to sleep before 11pm. Young ones needing rest after long disney days and to prepare for EE the next morning--it was a challenge in that room! I do not recall what floor our room was on, probably somewhere around 6-8--and we were definitely towards the Chef Mickey end of the resort. We were there in July.

We have not returned to CR, have fallen in love with the Boardwalk area. I would return there but only for a short trip, maybe for a week-end.

Hope this helps...

We LOVE the CR!! It is always my 3 kids choice. We stayed at the Poly in August and MISSED our resort. It just wasn't the same.

I never noticed any noise at night at the CR. ?? The rooms seem very quiet to me. Sure in the hallways you can hear Chef Mickeys music, but that adds to the feel of the place. We had problems getting peace and quiet at the YC. Our walls seemed paper thin. The elevators can seem crowded/busy especially right after the MK closes and everyone is returning. It is worth the wait, though. That isn't much of a reason not to stay there!

You will have a great time at the CR. There is a feeling of excitement and magic there. The arcade is fun/ you get tickets for prizes. The restaurants are fun and the shops are great. The convenience of being able to walk to the MK and not have to wait in long lines for transporation is wonderful. It is our favorite. We have stayed YC/ BC/ Poly/ Swan. Nothing compares. The view is fabulous. You do feel like you are staying in Walt's hotel.

Loved it. We got upgraded two weeks after 9/11. They said we could have any view we wanted, at first I wanted Castle view but the CM talked me into a lagoon view. It was great, we got in our room, sat on the balcony and like magic the water pageant began. We watched it every night, could also see the Epcot ball off in the distance. I could watch the kids walking to the pool and they would yell from the top of the slide. Our room was right by the elevators and we could look over balcony to Chef Mickey's. I loved the talking elevators, the stores and restaurants, everything about the Contemp.

We stayed at the CR Tower Room for the first time and absolutely loved it!! We had a Magic Kingdom view...we loved the convenience of the monorail as well as the convenience of the elevator (contrary to what I just read). We liked the fact that most everything was contained in the main building and you didn't have to walk all over creation to buy a quart of milk!!

The Contemporary IS our favorite resort....we don't want to stay anywhere else!!! I can't think of a single complaint for our stay!! We even received our first ever Towel Animals!!
