My SIL works for the Marriotts and I got a room at 45.00 dollars a night. Just wondering if I should keep the reservation or not? Have you stayed here? Is the pool nice? It says ART stops right in front, is this true? Is the free breakfast nice? Any info would be great..

Thanks
Heather,

Seriously??? $45 a night???:eek:you better keep that reservation ::yes:: I absolutely ♥♥♥ RI ANYWHERE...I have never stayed at RI in anaheim because I always wanted to stay closer and not deal with ART but its one of the designated Good Neighbor hotels and ranked #7 out of 106 hotels on tripadvisor.. Ive stayed at tons of them and they are amazing and YES the breakfasts are great....there is NO way I would pass up staying for $45 a night there ART or no ART:thumbsup2

ps...the pool looks decent enough oh and they have bbq grills too suwwweeeeet

Do you know which Residence Inn it is, there are 2 of them, both are nice. one is on
harbor blvd in garden grove, the other on clementine st in anaheim. i "think" both hotels
are all suite hotels which is nice so you'll have a little extra room. 45.00 a night
is a fantastic price, i would keep your current reservation. you won't find anything nicer for that price.

Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate

Residence Inn Garden Grove

oooh Mikey I didnt think about that one...I assumed it was the one on Clementine...good call mate:thumbsup2

Stayed there with a large group (10) a couple of years ago and it was awesome....breakfast was good but it does get crowded at times....we used ART and yes it was right in front of the hotel...a couple of times we had to wait long but most of the time it was very consistent.....close to Target and Red Robin, Joe's Crab Shack and Outback is right across the street...for $45 I wouldn't pass it up....

I have a relative that works for Ritz Carlton (owned by Marriott) and get this same discount. Just a heads up that the hotel you booked is in Garden Grove, not in Anaheim. You will have to drive from there to DL.

The one that is in Anaheim is called the Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate. However, it is almost impossible to stay there on the Marriott discount. I have been trying for a long time and it is never available for my dates! But you could have better luck...:thumbsup2

We stayed there with a large group. It was great! Full kitchens so we could make our own food if we needed to. The pool was decent sized, but a bit on the cold side. We did not have problems with noise, and we were right on the busy street. I would stay there again, and for $45 a night, you cannot go wrong.

We are staying at the one in Garden Grove, but I just doubled checked and the ART does stop in front of the hotel. I was freaked for a minute there!! :) Thanks for all the info. I think it will be a great choice for us. It does look a bit further than the Courtyard we stayed at last year, but I think the price and the free breakfast are worth a few extra minutes on the ART bus!! :cool1:

You're right - the ART does stop there. There is also a Target right across the street, so if you want to get some groceries while you are there, it will be convenient.

My cousins stayed there, and they liked it. The pool is a little on the small side. Their breakfasts are pretty decent. For $45 you got a fantastic rate, so I agree with the others that you should keep it. :)

I also work for Marriott and as Residence Inn is an all suite extended stay property , 45 bucks a night is a STEAL. KEEP the reservation definitely. You can still cancel usually 48 hours in advance with no penalty. I work for Marriott and have been on the lookout for such a deal but my dates are very popular lol. Even being in Garden Grove you won't pay the higher parking fees staying by the mouse. It depends but really at that price you may as well stay.

I had been checking EVERY day for the past month, even though my SIL said they usually don't give any until about 60 days out, and it was only up for like 2 days. I don't know if it was a glitch or what, because they had it that price for every day from April through October for those 2 days that I saw it. At any rate, I am glad I was stalking the Marriott site. I also got a great rate for San Diego (since we are doing a few days there before heading to Disney) at a Residence Inn for 59.00 dollars a night. I am going to have to get my SIL a giftcard or something!!:worship:

Yeah basically if you see it BOOK it. I already booked for October (tentatively) as well as our December trip because it could be gone tomorrow. The great thing about booking directly through the website/Marriott is they don't require any money up front , just a CC to hold. Also a little tidbit of advice concerning any discounted rate - ALWAYS CALL AND ASK , even if it says not available. What happens is online it only checks if the rate is available ALL DAYS of your stay.

For example last year DH and I stayed at Anaheim Marriott. We get a special 50% off extra associate rate with a special code during certain slow months. When I tried to get the special rate online, it said not available but when I called , they were able to book the special rate for 3 of the 4 nights! It was a huge savings and helped us out so much :)
