Can anyone tell me about the resort, rooms, location, anything?!?! Booked this resort for the end of September for my mom, niece (8),
sister (12), fiance and myself and am really nervous that I'm not going to like it... always have stayed on Disney property but this is going to be a non disney trip since we are returning in a few months for a full week of Disney. Any information would be sooooooo appreciated!!!!

I haven't stayed on the property before but i heard great things about it, that would actually make me want to stay at Grand Beach. I know it is on little lake bryan and that it is near downtown disney area (lake buena vista). I hear the place has pretty large units so thats a plus if you have only been to disney properties since most are only hotel rooms. If you dont get many replies from people who actually stayed at Grand Beach, there is always tripadvisor, that has alot of posts from people who stayed at various resorts. Just search for Embassy at Grand Beach. Hope i helped :)

Nice large units, close to WDW and I-Drive too.

2 pools but basic pools, no slides or squirts etc.

Nice lake but you cant swim in it

I like it for the space and location

Is it true that they do not have any on-site food places? No snack bars or anything?

I don't remember a place to eat, however, it is very close to a Super WalMart, and there are restaurants all around. It was a nice place, close to DTD, but my main complaint is that there is no traffic signal. If you wanted to leave at a busy time, you always had to turn right. Rarely could you get out the other way. Just a minor inconvenience.

I stayed there in February. I like the resort but there are important tips on making your stay better.

1. Some room locations are awful. Check in early (at or before 4) - I show up by noon). Your room will not be ready, but if you get a location overlooking the power station, there should be others units left so you can change.

My favorite building is 1 overlooking the pond and pool. The parking is limited, but it is furthest from 535 and the views are nice. You can call ahead and request this building.

2. Don't leave anything of value in the room. The housekeeper stole a hairbrush!

3. Bring slippers. The tile is hard on feet.

We love strolling by the lake, lounging in the hammocks, enjoying the entertainment by the pool. The three bedroom three bath units are huge. Keep in mind that on the top floor, you can't see out when sitting on the screened porch because of the high knee walls so lower floors are best.

My motto when staying in condos is "don't sweat the small stuff". No, it isn't Disney, but it so much cheaper than renting a three bedroom at Disney. Just think of all the fun you can have with the money you save.

Thanks everyone for your replies, you have made me feel a ton better. I got an amazing deal for a 3 bedroom ($233 for the week) and wasn't sure if I should book it, but since it doesnt seem to be bad, I booked it this morning. Thanks again and anymore info would be great:thumbsup2

wow u really did get a great deal! What did you book through? And do you have to do a tour?

We stayed at Grand Beach in a 3BR condo in Dec. 2005. It was very spacious, clean, and safe. My girls really loved the place. We will be staying there again in Sept. I got the whole week (7 Nights) through skyauction for $226.00. I bid on the Surf and Turf auction and then chose the place at get-a-way weeks. We are very excited about going back .
I don't think you will be disappointed. We were very impressed!

I did the same thing as momof3grlz, placed a bid on skyauction then booked the week during September for the 3 bedroom villa. The process was sooooo simple:thumbsup2

I'm starting to get excited about the trip, feeling fantastic about the Grand Beach now, thanks everyone!

Almost forgot, no tour necessary:)
