I am going to a conference in two weeks. My mom and sister are going with me. It is held at the Flamingo and it will be our first time there.
Any thoughts on rooms?
I got a pretty good conference rate, but then they charged 30 bucks extra a night for the third person in the room :(
Hope it is nice.

Thanks.

We stayed there in June. In our room it was DH, DD and me. For the price we paid $68 avg per night it was an excellent deal. The rooms are very large and while we didn't have a view we did have a newly renovated one. Ours had a king bed and a love seat; it was very clean. It's a big place and rooms can be quite a walk from the elevator so let them know that you'll need a close one if that's an issue. The Flamingo pool complex is great and is consistantly rated one of the top 10. It does get crowded so go down early and grab chairs. The location can't be beat. It's mid strip right across from the Bellagio and the monorail stops behind the hotel. I'd definitely stay there again. Do yourself a favor and check in at the airport because the lines at the hotel can be very long. The airport check in is past the baggage claim. Ask at the information booth if you don't see it because it might be blocked by construction. The desk there can also arrange transportation.

THanks CED mom. We have asked for 2 double beds. Better get them!
I had heard they had airport checkin and I had planned on doing that. Hopefully since we are arriving rather early we will have a better selection of rooms. I am afraid I won't spend much time (if any) at the pool. But do plan on looking at them!
Did you do the buffet there?
Wow. 68 bucks would be a steal! Guess they don't charge for kids? I was rather put off when they said it would be an extra 30 a night for the third person, but, it is still cheaper than what is listed on the web site.
THanks again.

Yeah, DD was only 4 when we went so she was free. We did do the buffet one night and it was ok. You should get a coupon book when you check in and it may have a 2 for 1 in it. We also ate at the coffee shop there (Lindy's). The breakfast food was good but DH got a meal and he wasn't too thrilled with it. The pool has a downunder beach party everynight from 4-8 that's fun. They feature discounted drinks and have a grill going to buy food. There are also games going on. We did that one night for dinner and enjoyed it. Also make sure you go over to the Bellagio at night and check out the fountains, it's fantastic.
