We own DVC at BWV, so clearly we love the place. It's an easy walk to Epcot, a bit further to MGM. You can take the boat to either for a nice relaxed ride, but it takes a little longer (but frequently worth it). The convenience of walking to two of the four parks is really hard to beat. We like the ability to walk over to Epcot for dinner, and the International Gateway escape after Illuminations (no maddening onrushing crowds there).
The studios at BWV are pretty spacious, a bit larger than your usual Deluxe WDW hotel, plus you have a mini fridge and microwave, so you can save a bit on snacks and breakfast. We love the 2BR units. They hold up to 8 ppl so a great place for a big gathering (I'd say 8 would be a bit cosy, but 6 would be very comfortable). And in the 1BR and 2BR units you get a full kitchen and a nice living area, which makes for a nice gathering spot for your group. Remember that at DVC resorts you also have free laundry; the laundry is in the room for 1BR and 2BR units, while studio occupants can use the main BWV laundry room on the first floor (near the bottom of the elevator). Both pools are great, but the main one (Luna Park) can be a bit scary for those afraid of clowns, due to the clown-face pool slide (the "Keister Coaster"). For the money, it's hard to beat renting a DVC unit on weeknights; you have got yourself a pretty good bargain on a very nice room.
The negatives might be: scary clown pool slide, no daily housekeeping (you can pay for extra if you want, but otherwise they don't come more than every 4 days), and many of the rooms are a bit of a walk from the main elevators. If you don't mind taking the stairs, the long hallway problem is easy to avoid, but for us where DS is wheelchair bound, long hallways are a little inconvenient. They are not longer at BWV than many other WDW hotels (AKL, BCV, WL to name a few others with long hallways). YMMV.
Have a great time at BWV! We love it and come back several times a year when possible.
