Now we are looking at the 2 bedroom (renting from DVC) BWV's. Are they nice? Are you close to epcot & mgm? Anything negative about them? Help us please!!!!!!!

We own DVC at BWV, so clearly we love the place. It's an easy walk to Epcot, a bit further to MGM. You can take the boat to either for a nice relaxed ride, but it takes a little longer (but frequently worth it). The convenience of walking to two of the four parks is really hard to beat. We like the ability to walk over to Epcot for dinner, and the International Gateway escape after Illuminations (no maddening onrushing crowds there).

The studios at BWV are pretty spacious, a bit larger than your usual Deluxe WDW hotel, plus you have a mini fridge and microwave, so you can save a bit on snacks and breakfast. We love the 2BR units. They hold up to 8 ppl so a great place for a big gathering (I'd say 8 would be a bit cosy, but 6 would be very comfortable). And in the 1BR and 2BR units you get a full kitchen and a nice living area, which makes for a nice gathering spot for your group. Remember that at DVC resorts you also have free laundry; the laundry is in the room for 1BR and 2BR units, while studio occupants can use the main BWV laundry room on the first floor (near the bottom of the elevator). Both pools are great, but the main one (Luna Park) can be a bit scary for those afraid of clowns, due to the clown-face pool slide (the "Keister Coaster"). For the money, it's hard to beat renting a DVC unit on weeknights; you have got yourself a pretty good bargain on a very nice room.

The negatives might be: scary clown pool slide, no daily housekeeping (you can pay for extra if you want, but otherwise they don't come more than every 4 days), and many of the rooms are a bit of a walk from the main elevators. If you don't mind taking the stairs, the long hallway problem is easy to avoid, but for us where DS is wheelchair bound, long hallways are a little inconvenient. They are not longer at BWV than many other WDW hotels (AKL, BCV, WL to name a few others with long hallways). YMMV.

Have a great time at BWV! We love it and come back several times a year when possible.

Hello! We rented DVC pts. from a member over on the DVC rent/trade board and stayed in a studio Jan 10-20 2005. We absolutely loved it and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the Boardwalk area. We had previously stayed at the Swan & Dolphin but decided to give DVC a try. We went during adventure season and our studio w/fridge, microwave, free laundry facility ended up costing us less than a stay at the Dolphin. Our room was above the Wyland Gallery so we had a view of the Boardwalk, the boat dock, and Epcot. The walk to the elevators wasn't that bad either. You just cannot beat the convenience of the Boardwalk. The only bad thing is that its ruined any other Disney resort for us. I was a little worried about renting pts at first, but there are a lot of good guidelines posted on the rent/trade board. The DVC members we rented points from couldn't use them and didn't want to bank them for next year. They were very nice people and couldn't have been more helpful. I hope your experience is just as positive!

There's one big problem with renting for a 2BR at BWV, you might end up having to buy a DVC membership :teeth:

All it took was the tour of the rooms/resort and 2 hours later we were owners.

People are always talking about the long hallways. But look at it this way, how long a walk is if from a Pop Century or All-Stars building to to the lobby/bus stop? How long a walk from some of the buildings at the Poly/Contemporary or GF to the lobby/bus stop, probably just about the same if not more. And look on the bright side, if it's raining you're inside!

Biggest negative is that you won't be satisfied staying in a regular hotel room again after staying in a one or two bedroom villa at DVC.

We have stayed at BWV a couple of times and it is by far our all time favorite!! Just stayed in a 2bdrm last August - rented from a DVC owner. There is nothing I can think of that you won't like. The staff, the location all is GREAT!! We have been staying in the Epcot resort area for the 5 trips and think it just gets better and better.

Enjoy!! I am envious - going in a few weeks and couldn't get into any of the Epcot resort area hotels. Staying at the contemporary and don't think it will be the same.

Have a magical Disney Day!!

Boardwalk is our home and I agree you will be spoiled after staying there. Our favorite is the one bedroom (just the two of us) but have done a 2 bedroom in the past with my in-laws.

I love being able to walk to Epcot and MGM. We're staying there in June and I can't wait to go back!

We absolutely love the BWV. In the past we have rented points from a person on these boards and had great experiences. We just bought on our last trip! That's what happens when you get spoiled by those DVC rooms!! ;)
We love being able to walk to Epcot and MGM. We go to Epcot almost every night of our trip. Also, there are so many restaurants to choose from. With Swan/Dolphin, YC/BC, Epcot and BW. Also the entertainment at night, like strolling musicians, magigians, jugglers. BW type games, face painting, hair wraps, surrey bikes. Also the marina at the YC.

BW is our favorite resort and every year we say we are going to try something different but always end up back at the BW!!

We are DVC owners and at the BWV....we get a 2bdrm everytime and love it the entire visit...I love the walk to MGM and Epcot....

There is nothing like the feeling of staying at the BW. It's so hard to put into words the feeling of staying there. Favorite thing to do is get up early and walk down on the boardwalk to the bakery and sit in the early sun, watching the water on the lake, seagulls flying above - so magical!!! We always rent bikes and ride around the boardwalk promendade. Pool is great. If you spend alot of time at the pool, stock up your fridge, the pool bar carries very limited selection for lunch. The community hall is great for kids - tv, computers, ping pong. We love the quiet pool here also. Pictures do not do the BWV justice. EJOY!!!!!
