I was just browsing laughingplace.com and I noticed that they carry a lot of park merchandise, however, I DON'T remember it being THAT expensive!

I bought a car topper for $3 and they want 6.97? I saw some simple sleeveless tops, tee's, and they were 41.00! Has the prices gone up that much?

I'm guessing they are not truly a Disney retailer, meaning they pay regular retail prices then re-sell them. Thus the higher prices. Don't know this for sure though. I've checked out their site as well. Always seemed much more Disneyland oriented than WDW.

I have used them once and they shipped promptly. They are more expensive because you are paying them to go into the park, buy the item and then ship it to you. I don't think they necessarily have an inventory of items, they are more of a shopping service. The middle man always has to make some money too!

The prices are much higher than park prices. Also, the shipping time from Laughing Place is VERY, VERY long. The one time I ordered from them I thought I would NEVER get my order. I won't be using Laughing Place again.

I've used them twice in the last month and been very happy. Yes, you're going to pay more, but that's because you're paying for them to go into the parks to get the items if they don't already have them in stock, you're payin for them to ship the item to you, and you're paying a small mark-up as a re-sell. Nonetheless, it's a great way for me to get some Disney magic in the mail way up here in MN!

We purchase the item and send it to you. We charge you the cost of the item plus a shopping fee and shipping.

Shopping Fees
The shopping fee is automatically included in the price of each item when you browse the store or view the shopping cart.

The fee charged is based on the cost of the item at the theme park (including sales tax) and which theme park it will be purchased at. The fee is included in the price shown.

The Price at The Theme Park
When we purchase items, we do not use an Annual Passport or Cast Member discount. We pay full price for the item and the price we pay is the price you pay (excluding shopping fee).


So, their prices are more expensive because they charge a small fee to go to the parks and buy the items for you. Buying from them does cost more than if you purchased something at the parks yourself, but I have found that they are much cheaper than some of the other WDW merchandise shopping services, if you just HAVE to have something between trips or before you arrive. In fact, I ordered the Wishes CD from them, and it was only a dollar or two more than if I had called WDW Merchandising and ordered it from them (their shipping prices are the killer!).

This is the best advice. I saw Laughing Place's prices and...well, laughed. But then I felt bad for people who don't know the alternative.

I'm sure people have had good experiences with LP, but know that EVERY SINGLE item sold in the parks is available from WDW Merchandise, as long as you can give a decent description of what you want. Not "the lanyard I saw at the AK", but the "black lanyard with clear FP holder that I saw at the cart at near the Tree of life"*.

Good luck! Browse at LP, but buy from Disney!
