Have you seen the Rockettes Christmas Spectacular show at Radio City music hall?

Do you remember approx. where your seats were, and how the view was?

I looked at that feature they have online where you can see the view from the seat--and it almost looks like anything not in the orchestra is really bad?

Am I just percieiving it wrong?

thanks!

I have seen it twice from up in the balcony. I don't remember exactly where our seats were but the views were fine. Great views of the show.

I see it every year. Anywhere on the floor or 1st mez. is fine. I've never been in the balacony. This show uses the height of the stage, so you really don't need to be close.

We have seen it from all of the levels and have never been disappointed in the view. It is big and meant to be seen from even the back row. Enjoy!

We have seen the show twice. The first time was in the back middle section of the orchestra, and the second time was in the second middle section of the orchestra. The feature that you saw on Radio City's website was very accurate.

We actually preferred the back of the orchestra because it was easier to see the entire stage and the visual effects were better from a distance. Being up front was way too busy.

Hope that helps! :santa:

It's a good show, we really enjoyed seeing it. Have fun.

Thanks! It's not a "for sure" thing yet...but I might take one of my sons whose birthday is in December for a quick overnight to NYC.
We're thinking taking the train (from DC area) up early in the morning, spending the day in NYC...I want to see the department store windows done up for Christmas, and the tree in Rockefeller center, etc.
Then spend the night in NYC, and the next day go to the Rockettes show--I'm thinking the 2pm show...then catching a 5pm train back to DC...

We were in NYC as a family back in April, and got to do and see a lot of the "must dos" (statue of liberty, the Met, Empire State Building, etc.) but our days were PACKED--out of the hotel each morning before 8 am and not getting back 'till close to midnight! I'm hoping this little trip will be a bit more relaxed!

1st mezzanine, front row, 300's section = fabulous seats, we could see the whole stage. I took mom and DD on a bus trip to NYC last christmas and we had a blast! I want to take all the kids this year.

If you go have fun. My wife and I were there a few weeks ago. They were starting to put up the lights at Macy's. We are thinking of going back around Christmas to see the lights and so forth. We really like going there.

I've seen it many times and I actually prefer the balcony for this show because there are so many things that look better from above. The Rockettes do a lot of numbers where they do formations that you don't get the full effect if you are at their level.

Don't get me wrong, it's not bad at other levels, but the view is different.

I am so excited , I have never been to NYC and have tickets to the 12/2 show . WOoohoooo! This cajun girl is ready to go.

Awsome! Thank you!
:thumbsup2

The site says there is only 1 day and 7 hours left to buy, though? I really need to wait a couple more days for Dh to check something out with his work schedule before I can commit for sure :(

Oh, :( I read the time wrong. It has been up for a couple days. So, when I saw it still up today, I thought the clock said 10 days left, not 10 hours.

If I see another Groupon or deal, I will post it.

Just got my tickets!!! Thanks everyone for the help!

FYI, if you are thinking of going--there is a deal on the website that if you enter the code "JOURNEY" you don't have to pay ticketing fees!:thumbsup2
Saved me about $14/ticket :)

You enter the code BEFORE you select your seats, on the left hand side. The code isn't good for some of the premium seats (not sure if that's the right word they used, but ykwim).
Hope that helps someone! :)

I too my DD8 last Dec., it was the first time for both of us, wonderful show! We were on the floor, about 8 rows back on the left side. We had a great view! I bought tickets for the first show on Sat. morning, it was cheaper than later in the day and the only way I could justify the floor seats. I think it started at 9 or 9:30, so it was early, but then we had the rest of the day to explore. Have fun!!
