I think it's cute, but apparently there are some real haters out there. I got to it though a story on how rude and dangerous flash mobs are (though I can't find the original story now!), and this was one of the examples.

I love the whole thing, everything about it from the fact they just pop up out of the blue to the singing and dancing. If you ask me the world could always use some more happy and its nice of these folks to share

I hadn't seen that, but I think it's cute! I love flash mobs. They don't pose a dangerous hazard, people can stop and watch or keep moving, it is entirely up to them. I think they always look like lots of fun and think it would be really cool to be a part of one.
I think the people who get upset about them and think they're "dangerous" don't really have any idea what they actually are. People are just trying to bring a little fun and smiles to others, no harm intended.

I think the Flash Mob concept is amazing. One local church did one at a mall down the road. I heard about it afterwards but it would have been great to have been there. I LOVE the one on Youtube that is the Alleluia Chorus. Amazing voices in that group.

For the record, I think there should be more outburts of singing and dancing. I think the world needs that right about now.

Flashmobs dangerous? I can't help but wonder what would have happened had a flash mob broken out in Tucson over the weekend instead of gunshots.

My prayers continue to be with all who were involved and affected by the horror there........

When I hear flash mob I think dangerous but I live outside of Philly and the only time I have heard the term flash mob was not in a good way. Last year after one of our snow storms there was a flash mob snowball fight in the city and it wasn't good.

I do agree the world needs more people breaking out in song and dance. I loved what they did on Oprah the one year.

Flashmobs dangerous?

I think "flash mob" is used in the news for any group that assembles quickly at a pre-determined spot. The singing/dancing ones aren't dangerous, but some cities have had problems with them assembling to tip over cars and break windows.

From my understanding the Flash Mob song/dance ones are actually choreographed and rehearsed somewhat (I know the Oprah one was).

I'm sure the ones that are snowball fights/tipping cars over, etc... are not rehearsed and are just mob scenes.
