Have you put a DVC vacation on hold?

I really think in 6 months to a year, if things don't get better, you're going to see a huge drop in travel. As you can tell, most folks have prepaid/booked well in advance. With DVC, you can start booking 11 months out at your home resort, I think alot do (I do!). I fly from Seattle and with air so high, will make fewer trips to WDW, but will make them longer.

Nope. We're still going in May. Our APs and accomodations are already paid for so it's only air and food. Plus travel is our only vice so we're not cutting that out :)

We have thought about cancelling our March trip. We haven't yet though.

But we are thinking about driving this trip. We haven't driven yet, we always fly. But SW is going to be $1000 for us plus the rental car when we get there, probably another $250 (we stay part of our trips in other parts of Florida so we have to rent a car). We may just rent a car here and drive down and back to save the $1000. Rooms are paid for, tickets paid for, so we'd be out food, gas and the rental car.

Plus the vacation time of the extra days there and back. :sad2:

Yes, and no. We cancelled our Thanksgiving trip to WDW due to the high air fare. In cancelling that trip, we booked a replacement trip for February. And the air fare for that trip was 50% of the best rate I could find for Thanksgiving.

By not going for Thanksgiving, this is the second time in 15 years that I won't get to see the holiday decorations at WDW. :sad2:

No canceling.

But no booked 2009 WDW trips either... :sad1:

That's the year DH decided to take a Disney break. Have 2 cruises booked though - one in April and a Disney cruise in August. :yay:

But the DVC points are burning a hole in my "pocket" as well as all the deals going on (DCL promo). But we are out of vacation days and trying to cut back by not spending MORE than we have already committed to. :rolleyes1

Last trip was 2 weeks in August and I'm already in withdrawal with no end in sight... :scared:

Yep sounds very familar. This is the first time our family group has not gone in many, many years. :sad1:

Me too. Too much for the whole family to go (airfare from Canada, park tickets etc.), but I could not get points back (borrowed most from next year, would have to use them before April). So DD and friend are going, she didn't get to go on the last trip in March 2007, so I had booked this trip to accomodate her winter break from Uni. At least this way, I only have to pay for 1 plane ticket, park ticket, ...:sad2:

Yes, we canceled a trip. We had planned on going in January and in October, but now we're only going in October. The only bright spot is that we'll have 2 trips worth of points to use.
