i want to make one for Christmas when we will all be together. What did you put in yours? I’m having trouble thinking of things beside lottery scratchers and candy.

I did one for teen girls- I went to Dollar General and got gel pens, gum, chapstick, and candy mostly. I think no one much cared what they got, the fun was in the actual activity and it was hilarious.

Also, for more difficulty, I would tear off the Saran Wrap now and then and start wrapping again in another direction. I don't know if people normally do one long continuous wrap or not but it is more challenging when you have to keep starting it over and over :)

Depending on if it's for adults or kids, I've done mini bottles of liquor, lip balm, Christmas socks, candy, gum, scratch offs, hand sanitizers, small packs of tissue, and even dollar bills.

I also agree with PP, if you want to make it harder don't keep wrapping one continuous sheet. It's a lot hard if you use separate sheets and wrap in multiple directions. We also make the person unwrapping wear mittens or gloves.

As a game? No, but my SIL did one for my son as a birthday present. Besides money, I think she put candy in there as well.

As a game, the person beside you keeps rolling dice until they get doubles. Then you pass the ball to the next person. You keep whatever items you unwrapped.

We played that last year and the person unwrapping had to wear oven mitts. We just did lottery tickets and candy. If you do paper money, I would suggest folding it up and putting it into one of those little cardboard gift card holders so it doesn't get ripped. Maybe it's just us, but we are rather spirited with tearing the Saran wrap off and dollars would have likely ripped.

Some other ideas you could do are coins (half dollars, gold dollars, foreign coins if you can find them), small keychains, lip balm, Paracord bracelets, the little surprise pack toys, glow bracelets (if you make it shortly before the game- go ahead and snap them as you wrap them and the ball will glow), winter gloves, the dollar store expandable washcloths, liquor minis, fruit snacks, mini slim Jims, hair ties/headbands/hairclips/mini compact hairbrush, mini flashlight, pocket/keychain tools, mini stuffed animals (Walgreens has cute mini dogs with a Santa hat that make noise), squishees, thumb drives, power banks (take out of box and give the box to recipient after), led ice cubes, Mardi gras-style beads, lighted Christmas necklace, earrings, neat lanyard, Disney pins, face mask, Lego minifigs, finger lights, Christmas socks, gum, deck of cards, hanging purse clip, ResqMe tool, cool magnets, red Rudolph nose (thinking the red nose day noses), earbuds, small ornaments that won't break, cookie cutters, finger puppets, small bottle opener, boo boo bunnies, hand warmers, sleep mask, folded up reusable bags, neat soap, mini Play-Doh or slime, small bottle of Poo Pourri.

If they don't receive something age or gender appropriate, it just makes it funnier and they can always swap at the end. Have fun!

We attended a birthday party that did a mixture or saran wrap and wrapping paper so that the kids wouldn't get too frustrated. There were a few candies or trinkets scattered throughout, but at the enter was the main item, what it was I forget. It was a group of 5 year olds playing, so probably a toy or candy. But they had a blast.

Candy, gum, lip balm, socks, strech gloves, scratch off lottery tickets, $1 dollar bills, $5 dollar gift cards, grand prize $20 bill in the center. Our family is huge and we used 2 pkgs of saran wrap and it was over 20 lbs. Each family member chipped in money so we had about >$100 invested into the ball. It was so fun!!!

My department at work has done this for a couple of years now. Some of the items I've put in it:
*Holiday gift wrap labels (cut a sheet of gift labels so there's maybe 4 labels together.)
*Little tins of altoids
*Pony tail holders
*Candy
*Holiday socks from the dollar bins at Target (actually, there's lots of stuff in that section that can work well.)
*Fuzzy socks
*Gum
*Dollars, quarters, dimes, etc. Coins and small pieces of candy will fly through the air sometimes when people are able to grab hold of the saran wrap and pull a bunch off.
*Last year I was able to find those gift bows that lay flat until you pull strings on either side to puff the bow up.
*Travel packs of kleenexes
*I found Peppermint Pop Rocks this year. Kind of hoping I get that. :)
*Travel sized antibacterial gels from Bath and Body works in holiday scents

Never heard of this before you created this thread. Good idea. I think we will use it at our Christmas party with family. Thanks!

If you google it, you can see pictures of them. It’s a good game for all ages. Our youngest playing it will be 4 and oldest almost 90. You will be laughing so hard. I’ve seen it played with oven mitts but I think it might be too hard for our oldest and youngest player.

Never heard of it but sounds fun. We just wrap coworkers desk with it ;)

We played it and loved it last Christmas. I was a skeptic at first, but the family had a great time! Especially the kiddos. I found it online here: christiancamppro.com/the-original-saran-wrap-ball-game
