Have you noticed?

While the boards are very very informative, has anyone noticed on the boards that people will say "just back...ask me anything" or "any questions, just ask", and when people ask they don't respond? Or, someone will be just expressing their experience or woe, like "I wish such & such airlines would release their discounts rates for such and such time" and then someone replies, "well you have 2 choices, wait or book somewhere else." Is it just me or has anyone else noticed these things?

In response to the first part --in my experience, people are generally more than happy to share their info and will try to answer whatever questions they can. Unfortunately, many times people will ask questions about a situation/scenario that no one else has experienced, and can't answer, because they don't know.

I'm a prime example....I've stayed at the Swan or Dolphin more times than I can count, but, there are at least two question on the resorts board right now about the SD that I can't begin to answer, because it's not something I've had experience with while there.

As for the second part--yeah, I have noticed that, too. Sometimes rather than just staying quiet, people feel they have to get their two cents in, even if it's not helpful, or, even very nice.

These boards aren't much different than real life in that instance. There are some people like that everywhere. SO sad they feel they have to be that way.

Not sure if I have noticed that, but oftentimes I see people ask a question, and I or someone answers it, and the OP never acknowledges that they came back and saw or got the answer. I always wonder if they saw it, LOL.

Exactly!

This just happened to me on the Trip Reports Board. Someone asked for info and I answered and never was acknowledged. Who knows if they even bothered to go back and see if someone answered them. Odd!
