Have you hunted for Treasure?

I started watching the show Cash & Treaures on the Travel Channel. And now I am totally intrigued. They have done a show on finding treasure underwater, even finding ancient shark teeth in Florida. So, have you hunted for treasure, if so what kind and did you find anything cool?

I have a fascination with treasure and treasure hunters. I have to tivo this show.

DH and younger DD have started watching this show. Right after they saw it the first time out came the metal detector again . I had to put my foot down after I caught DD cleaning her treasure in my bathroom sink!

I've hunted fossils in NW Georgia, which was lots of fun.

My most lucrative Treasure hunting is when I clean out closets and find cash in old coats and pirses. That's the best!

Hunting treasures can be really frustrating but the moment you hold a find in your hands, the result of your efforts, it seems to override the hard times.

I have been professionally hunting and recovering, what you can call treasurers, for most of my adult life. WWII era aircraft to many shipwrecks. We are soon airing a doco on the recovery of a B-17 from Labrador.

We do the local "geocashing" called Valley Quest. The kids love finding the "treasure" chest.

I am currently working on my thesis paper. It is on treasure salvagers, from shipwrecks. I believe they were the early beginnings of Marine Archeology and that the science owes much to their many innovations and risks to their personal lives. I am sending out emails hoping to speak to survivors from this early period in diving history, or their close friends and family.

I have many names of survivors family from the SS Governor 1921 loss in NW and the Islander 1901 loss in AK. I have over 27 years of research and information on the very subject of your thesis.
