Have you gotten a COVID vaccine?

They claim it was a faulty algorithm but why are they using algorithms?

This is a huge black mark on Stanford University. I know the residents and fellows won't forget how this rolled out to the Pajama Class faculty first.

What they said. Having once been in a position where I could have been the person asked to come up with the schedule at a large medical center, there was no excuse for any of this. It's not that hard to figure out how to put the most vulnerable first, some of whom might be housekeeping people. An algorithm? Really? Unaffected administrators to the very back of the line. People have long memories.

I'm in the second phase of distribution, as is my daughter. Husband has to wait until the general public can get it. Friend got the vaccine yesterday, is doing fine. Neighbor across the street, who works in a hospital, has to wait because she just got over COVID.

I am on staff at 3 medical centers and all of them haveffered me the pifzer vaccine. I currently am undergoing some medical testing/treatment and it was advised I do not receive it currently but will be able to get it soon. My colleagues got it in Thursday. Luckily/not so luckily I had covid a few weeks ago so I should have some immunity while I wait to get my vaccine

Read an article online today about the elderly that are getting prioritized next. Good reminder for those that have a POA of a loved one to make sure they can receive the vaccine if you choose.

NKCH. I know Truman and St Luke’s have gotten theirs and it was estimated we should have received ours the same time as Truman.
Ahhh I see yeah I have not heard a peep about them getting it.

From what I read KC and STL would be getting Pfizer because we have the cold storage capabilities and mid-size (at least in MO) would get Moderna. St. Joe was one of the mid-sized cities listed as getting Moderna. Now that it has been approved that should be rolling out.

I did hear AdventHealth Shawnee Mission got theres and I wasn't even aware they would so from what I know it's that, KU, Truman and St Luke's so far. But that still leaves out many hospitals in the metro...I sure hope they can get more doses to them and your hospital as well :flower3:

Supposedly we get our first shipment tomorrow...

I spent 10 hours yesterday vaccinating our hospital staff (I had my vaccine on Wednesday). Anyway, we're clipping along on vaccines. As you've probably heard, Pfizer has overfilled the vials so instead of getting the expected 5 vaccines per vial, we're getting 6-7. So instead of 1900 people to start, we've got enough for about 2300. Anyway, we've moved through phase I and II and are now allowing phase III to sign up for their vaccines. I believe that all nurses are now allowed to sign up for their vaccines.
We keep everyone for 15 minutes post vaccine to watch for any reactions. In 10 hours yesterday, we had zero of those.

Have you had many turn down the vaccine yet at your hospital?
