done an entire DLR or WDW scrapbook with the same colors/theme running through it?
I have two DLR trips to do from the last two years and would like to get them complete before our upcoming WDW trip in April and thought it would be a faster way to get them done.
Was thinking the the traditional colors red, yellow, black, white and a pattern paper.
Thanks for your input!

I haven't done a Disney my book like that since it's is an assortment of pictures from all of our trips that I just keep adding to. But from experience on working gift albums - using coordinating papers & embellishments makes the process much faster and the albums look much more cohesive. I kept everything together in one of those plastic 12x12 boxes so it was easy to pull out to work on. Plus I didn't have to go digging through my stuff for embellishments for each page.

I think you are spot on with your color choices - I'd probably choose a couple of patterned papers for a little more variety.

yes, absolutely - and it works out WONDERFULLY! I did an entire world showcase during the flower show album using the same font for hand cut letters (pre-cricut) same colors (Pink Bazzil cardstock) and it was the classiest looking album I had done to date.

I've since done a couple cruise albums, a 6 week trip album and a few others using a set scheme like that. The albums go faster (you don't have to spend time picking the "right" paper), there's less material waste (because you can use scraps from one page to embellish the next) and you get a very nice cohesive look at the end.

Also, I might use one color cardstock for the base of the page - probably either black or white, and embellish with the other colors/patterns.

Knowing your color scheme beforehand, I would even go so far as to make sure the clothing we packed was going to look well with those colors - ie maybe no pink or purple. But, I'll grant you that that's a wee bit obsessive.;)

I am planning to do this for a short upcoming trip that DH and I are taking. I am eliminating the clothing color issue and printing all my pix in black and white and doing traditional Disney colors. I thought about it and decided it would be a fun thing to try!

Thanks all....these are photos from previous trips, so couldn't coordinate our colors....I will admit though I am a "bit" :rolleyes1 OCD when it comes to planning and PROUD of it :goodvibes

I had done our NYC trip with the same theme and it came out very nice and quicker. LindaBaba your right about not wasting as much stuff.

If I like how they turn out been thinking about doing the same thing for WDW trip...one color theme for each park!

Lovemy3kiddos, we lived up in Shawnee on the Delaware back in 94-95, love the area, DH built the GreatBear Country Club there (not sure if it still has the same name) .

I'm excited to try this out! Thanks again for your input!

I really like this idea!! I think I might use it for our upcoming April trip. . .and I have 7 months to coordinate the outfits!! The only variation I may use is for the resort, and I may use the same background page (white or black) for it, but differing colors of embellishment. :thumbsup2

Hey Brooke, since we are going to WDW the same time, did you want to meet up somewhere? would love to meet you, DH and your little man! I can't believe he's almost 2 already!
My problem with coordinating outfits is that we sometimes park hop, we usually wear our disney shirts anyway, so they go with anything right!
Might head out today to a scrap store to check it out, need to find one anyways other than Mike's.

I did this for a trip we took to Storyland. I made a 6x6 album using some SEI set a few years ago. I have to admit it really came out great ;)

I would love to meet up!! We're currently booked at Saratoga Springs. . .we can switch at the 7-month window, so I'm hoping to be at AKL. Once we know where we'll be, we'll make a plan!! I know what you mean about the coordinating outfits. I try to do one set per day and one set per night that "coordinate". . .they don't ever match (b/c it's hard to find for me, DH, & DS that match), but they're usually themed the same. I agree with what you said, they go with everything!! :)

we are staying at POP Century again, we can't wait! Let me know when you have things figured out. We have made our wish list for ADR's, but can't make until 10/4, a funny thing when I calulated our 180 days out it shocked me.....that is my anniversary! #13....I guess its Jim's way of giving us his blessing to go to our happy place!

we loved it there and how close it was to NYC! Our hang out after work was a Mimi's Bar/Restaurant! spent MANY a night there....went back up in 2002, area hadn't changed much, but met up with a couple of old friends.

Yep...Mimi's (if I'm thinking of the right place) is no more. A lot has changed there! But, *thank goodness* Saen Thai Cuisine is still there!!! LOL One of my fav's! Did you work around here, too?

Jim was in charge of building the course for Jack Nicklaus, I worked at one of the time share rental offices PT and also at the membership office for the course PT.
Is the General Store still there in "town" right there by Mimi's? I loved the stone house that was down the road from there.

Yes and in several ways within same scrapbook. For instance we were there during Epcots 25th anniversay so all World Show Case pics from Epcot were scrapped on silver paper. The Future part of the park I took a space paper print, cut it into strips and used as borders for all those pages. I have done printed paper as coordinating borders for each park. All cruise pics were done ABC style on the same paper. My last book, I used plain paper and punched Mickey Icon Heads as my embellishments. I stayed at Pop Century so the 50s got argyle, 60s tye dye, 70s paisley, 80s glitter black and 90s camafloge(sp sorry). The Animal Kingdom got different animal print heads. We are going again in October to DL instead WDW. Since it is the 75th anniversay (emerald being the traditional gift for 75th anniversary), I am toying with the idea of applying strips of emerald green paper with the mickey head cut out as a border on each page coordinating fall colors.

That's so neat!! It is definitely him giving his blessing, and saying he'll be right along with you! I'm ready to make ADR's too. . .I have plans, but our final resort will determine a couple of them. LOVE my Disney food!!

We''ll definitely make meet-up plans as soon as I get set--come on, next Wednesday!!

Wow...neat job!!! Yep...the general store is still there. They really have great food, too. It's great finding someone that lives across the country but knows my area so well!! I know the house you are talking about. Honestly though, if you have not been here since 2002, you'd never recognize any of it!! There is actually a new restaurant there where Mimi's was. It has already even changed names twice! Ha! We may even know some of the same people!!! Funny

Sounds good Brooke! We are taking Jim's little stuff Goofy with us! He did love WDW, DLR not so much. We love the food too! going to try Brown Derby, Tusker House, Ohana and maybe Via Napoli. Favorites CRT- dinner, Coral Reef, Sci Fi Diner and 1900 Park Fare - breakfast and Megan wants to go to Libery Tree too. I'm want to surprise her with the Gardenview Tea as one of her Bday surprises!

It was a fun job, we have lived in quiet a few places while Jim was building golf courses (this was my 39th move in 16 years and Megan's 9th). I'm really bad about remembering names, there were a couple local girls Peggy and I can't remember the other one. Most of our friends were thru the course, and we knew the then owners of the store too, loved their sandwiches!

Yes, and it came out super cute! I don't usually do a whole album of our trips because we go so often, usually for day trips, and I just put whatever pictures we take in my yearly album, but a couple of years ago we did the Food & Wine Festival on our anniversary weekend and I made an 8x8 album of the weekend all in yellow, red, and black. It was so much fun to make and came out great!

I gotta ask... 75th anniversary of what??

Anyhow, for anyone who as done something like this, do you have a source for buying your patterned paper in bulk? DD and my niece would like to do a birthday album for my MIL for her upcoming 88th birthday, but to make it easier I wanted to do it with just two or three solid cardstock colors plus one or two coordinating patterned papers... but I can't seem to find a place to buy the patterned paper in bulk (I would probably need at least 50 sheets... maybe 25 of each if I chose two patterns).

Thanks in advance...............P
