We'll be at DW for three days before cruising the Magic in June. Our first thought was just to enjoy 3 relaxing days at the BCV. But how do we stay at Disney and not go to the parks? But this cruise is sooo expensive. Have you ever tried getting tickets on ebay for 2 days only? I suppose there are people out there that maybe want to get rid of past tickets because they're never going back to Disney? Your thoughts?

It seems like a good idea, but the problem is that without being able to verify what exactly if left on the passes, you are taking the person's word. We bought passes on eBay for our last trip, and the seller said there were 2 "plus" options on them. We used one at Blizzard Beach, but when we went to use the 2nd at PI, we couldn't get in. It wasn't a huge deal, and she did refund me part of the price when we got home, but it just goes to show what a hassle it can be.
In my opinion, its not worth saving a few bucks.

Since the new MYW passes are now linked to the finger biometrics of the original users, there less of a chance of partially-used passes being sold on eBay. It is also against eBay rules to sell partially-used tickets. Like HLAuburn already stated, there's no way of being able to tell how many days or pluses remain on a ticket until you get to WDW. By then it may be too late.

I would recommed getting a 2-day Hopper w/DQ or PI plus from DiscountOrlandoVaction.com. The pass costs $142 for an adult and provided 2 days of park hopping plus either one admission to DQ or one to PI. Tickets expire 10 days after their first use and the current batch of tickets must be used by Dec. 30, 2005. They should have more with a Dec., 2006 expiration date early next year.

Well, I have passes with plus features already on them, so I'm set with PI and waterparks. Its the regular parks that I need. But I think I'm looking for a miracle here. Anything for a family of five is going to be well over 500.00 for two days and thats just too much with a cruise too...oh well, it'll just be nice to relax at the pool too! Thanks!

And keep in mind that, at least officially, Disney tickets are non-transferable.

Are you never going back to Disney?

A ten day or seven day non-expiring pass is an excellent bargain for multiple short vacations.

Your figuring may differ but I consider a 10 day non-expiring pass with hopping and water park fun to consist of ten theme park admissions at $34. each and five Disney Quest, Typhoon Lagoon, etc. admissions at $14. each. Purchased separately or purchased two or three at a time, park days without hopping cost about $60. each and water park admissions cost about $35. each.

I would not use eBay for tickets.

We have used eBay in the past and the tickets have been okay.
However, would not ues them again - the new MYW tickets give us so many options and they are good value for money too.

A few months ago, there was a similar thread and someone was behind a family that bought tickets on e-bay. There were, I think, 4 people, and none of the tickets were good. So, the father had to get tickets at the full gate price, and the kids (teenagers) were mortified that people saw them trying to use invalid tickets.
