5) Little Palm Island in the Florida keys.

We're traveling to Florida for our anniversary in June. We are just in the planning stages.

Antonia~ I have stayed at the Seaside Inn and really liked it. It's a small, old Florida style resort with quaint little cottages. The Song of the Sea is just up the road from Seaside Inn, it's a condo type resort. It looked nice, but I haven't stayed there. They are both operated by SouthSeas.

We stayed in Tavernier in the Keys....does that count? Ocean Pointe Suites. Got a rate of 109 per night for a two bedroom suite (booked through flausa.com)

We were just a short drive from John Pennekamp (sp?) state park. Made reservations to snorkel there and enjoyed it very much.

Our two bedroom condo overlooked a mangrove. It was awesome! We had plenty of space for five adults, enjoyed preparing breakfast for ourselves, had two full bathrooms, got to see all sorts of neat wildlife (kitty cats, racoons, an iguana, a nurse shark while snorkeling, nurse sharks being fed at a restaurant in Islamorada, etc.) There was a large pool at the resort. We were there in October and the weather was sunny and hot (very nice!)

I just saw Little Palm Island on The Travel Channel and it looks like an awfully romantic place......Tahiti without the long plane ride. They did mention that it's a total escape with no phones, TV, radio (or even clocks I think). Looks beautiful and very special.
